(WEST HOLLYWOOD, CA) — The special edition DVD release of the Madonna and Sean Penn vehicle from the 1980’s, “Shanghai Surprise,” hits store shelves today, including feature-length audio commentary from host/comic/actor/director and all around funny “lady”, Jason Sechrest.
“One critic referred to this as the worst movie of the entire decade,” says Sechrest, who was hired by Lionsgate to lend his comedic talents to the commentary. “No one even remotely involved in the movie wanted anything to do with this special edition re-release, so here I am! Really, if someone gives me 25 bucks and a cracker and it’s anywhere near remotely mainstream, I’ll do it. But this was particularly special to me because Madonna has obviously been a huge inspiration to me since I was singing Crazy for you in the sandbox at six years old. Literally. I mean, I have a web site called KabbalahCurious.com, how much more influenced by the woman can I get?”
Sechrest ponders throughout the commentary the size of Penn’s penis, how many times he may or may not have hit Madonna before a particular take and even manages to throw in a reference to porn star Kendra Jade.
Sechrest is also featured in the new movie, “Phone sex,” along with fellow comedians Margaret Cho, Penn Jillette and Edie McClurg. He will be moderating a panel “Profits of Porn,” at the Queer Media Convention in Los Angeles on Sunday, April 15th from 2:15 pm – 3:15 pm at the Renberg Theater (the Village at Ed Gould Plaza) featuring adult industry staples and icons Eddie Stone, Brent Corrigan, David Forest, Chad Donovan and Brandon Baker. He will also be performing stand-up at Howl at the Moon on Universal Citywalk in Los Angeles on Monday, April 16th at 9:00 pm and at M Bar in Hollywood on Tuesday, April 24th at 10:00 pm.
