What’s considered cheating to a woman might be a mere recreational indiscretion to a man – or maybe not. "A lot of women think a lap dance is cheating," Chazz Palminteri told the Associated press. "Men, obviously, just think it’s not."
At least, that’s the way it is in the movie, "Women vs. Men," directed by Palminteri. In the movie, a lap dance at a strip club triggers big trouble in a marriage.
Palminteri jokes he went to every strip club in Los Angeles – for the research, of course. But, in reality, "I know my wife would not like it, so I don’t do it," Palminteri said.
Palminteri said it was important to use amateurs in the film.
"I really wanted to use real strippers," Palminteri said. "I did not want to use actresses. For that, I wanted real strippers. Because there’s something in their eyes, and about the way they danced, and the way they tried to take control over a man. You cannot teach somebody how to act that."
Palminteri says women "get it" when it comes to relationships.
"Women are definitely better at relationships than men are," he said. "They’re smarter than us. They know how to it. And once I conceded to that, I took the lead of my wife.
"Truthfully, men get like children sometimes and we’re just not good at it. And women are better. So it’s just simple, and I’ve always felt that way."
"Women vs. Men," starring Christine Lahti, Joe Mantegna and Paul Reiser, will be seen Sunday on Showtime.
