XRCO 2021 Show Recounted

The XRCO 2021 Awards Show was held at Boardners in Hollywood, CA on October 12 this year. We did a walk through the day before the show to coordinate the layout, flow, and setup. The club had mandatory rules in place and were not admitting patrons without a “vax card,” a current COVID test, or a mask. I respectfully declined to comply. We are all tested and I’m opposed to giving out my private medical records.

Bob “Dirty Bob” Krotts, the chairman of the XRCO flew into town to coordinate and oversee the show. Bob had a mask with a picture of his face on it. It was disconcerting to see him talk without moving his lips.

Scott David, photographer Chris King, Alex “Monstar” Alexander and Mike Moz were also there in their official capacity to discuss the logistics of the show with the condescending owner of the club.

I arrived early no mask no card, presumably not hassled because I was wearing a suit. Zu, head of security, was professional and friendly once you get to know him, remembered me from the last show we had there in 2019 in spite of my now huge full beard. Good eye, good memory.

I was stationed at the door with a list of show participants when we started admitting talent at six o’clock. Only one bar was open inside the club across from the stage. The red carpet area was located on a stage in the outside back area where the winners pictures were also taken.

The stage was made from two risers and one staircase adjacent to a small chair and sofa area where Monstar organized the Heart-on girls and presenters. Heart-on girls would deliver the trophy to the presenters and are named such because the original awards were wooden plaques in the shape of a heart to show the love we have for the recipient, and the early shows were on or near Valentines Day to further the theme.

Kasey Warner showed up as a blonde and looks great! She was Santa’s sexy helper on the AINews holiday card published in 2014.

There were people turned away when they couldn’t cough up a medical record or show their recent COVID test on their phone. Some talent, when couldn’t get in because no “vax card” snuck in through the adjacent bar, but were quickly found and escorted out. There was nothing I could do when I tried to intercede.

Just before the show started a guy tried to get in, passes the security, and since it’s an Industry-only event I ask who he is. I don’t know him. I ask what he does. Too vague. I ask key questions, Dirty Bob walks up and the guy fakes he knew who Bob was and totally shows he is faking it to me and Bob. I respectfully and firmly deny his entrance.

I would love to let everyone into the XRCO Awards but it’s an Industry-only event for a reason. It’s a time when we all enjoy the company of our peers and it would intimidate the girls to have fans or trolls gawking, grabbing, or fawning over them all night. That behavior is for an expo! And when a girl is perched in a chair with her legs behind her ears we don’t want some untested mook diving in!

Playboy, Evil Angel, other company reps show up for the XRCO. Anyone working in the Industry is welcomed! The voters are all critics reviewers or the like. This year a sizable handful of fans respectfully waited outside and requested selfies and autographs from the girls as they entered. They had pictures of their favorites printed out and ready for them to sign.

Angeline Red, Angel Youngs, and Samantha Reign, all represented by Foxxx Modeling, showed up together. Aria Carson stopped by, walked the red carpet and left because she had a scene the next day. Smart. And professional!

Tee Reel brought Carter Blake, a new girl at his agency who was delightfully affectionate!

After I was done at the door I helped Scotty and Monstar find winners and presenters because in the din of noise no one could hear what was being said from the stage. Their sound system is great for music, but they really don’t know what they’re doing when it comes to a show like the XRCO. And while I’m at it, they acted like they were doing US a favor by bringing them a show on an off night and not getting a penny of the bar. The XRCO lost big time on the deal.

Samantha Reign had few drinks and found herself stranded, so after the show I introduced her to a handful of people like Peter Warren, Seth Gamble, and Sunny Lane who didn’t recognize me til I told her we were in Love Boat XXX together. Once recognized, hugs received! Misty Stone ignored me, being in a conversation – looked like she thought I was some bum with a beard (not too far from the truth). James Bartholet was brief and courteous without a glint of recognition as well. After running out of energy and people to introduce Samantha to, I drove her to her model house on the way home.

All in all the show was very enjoyable everything and went smoothly except for some photographer who allegedly took down the red carpet lighting “because he didn’t like it.” Since I’m going to be on the door again next year I’ll need to find out more about this from Chris King and discuss it with Dirty Bob.
