Arriving at Chicago’s Donald E. Stevens Convention center on an warm overcast Friday, the air was filled with excitement and nervousness for the first adult convention after the year and a half long pandemic, Exxxotica Chicago, Coming Back with a Vengeance. Friday’s crowd, the first night of a 3 day event, and Exxxotica’s Ladies Night, was already looking to be the largest crowd for any prior Exxxotica event.
In addition to the Exhibitors and Talent, Exxxotica Chicago included an event stage featuring performances throughout the day as well as the Miss Exxxotica Competition, a Dungeon Experience, a Couples areas, many seminars, and a Covid-19 booth for guests wishing to get tested.
Director of the front of the house, Rob, gave a little insight into his time preparing and making things run smoothly and effectively. He’s in charge of media registration, will call, wrist bands for vaccinated guests and keeping the lines moving which is very important considering this years record ticket sales.
Chicago is considered a staple show for Exxxotica which hosted it’s first event in 2011. Due to the show cancellation during the pandemic, this years event marks the 10th anniversary for the Chicago Exxxotica. Future Exxxotica shows include Miami in September, New Jersey in October, which promises to be the biggest show for the year, and a show will be held in Washington, DC in December which will be the first Exxxotica for the area.
