To club owners, one and all: I hope this finds you and your family well and happy. How can I help club owners in these strange and hard times? I have an idea, please read on.
My name is Richard Schauseil. I have been working with the adult entertainment industry since 1988; as an Expert Witness (1988), Club Broker (1999). I have held a real estate license since 1984. I have testified to keep the truth and facts alive in Courts of Law in the face of myths, misconceptions, and just down right lies about adult businesses.
This truth been told in the Federal and State Courts all over this country to keep the clubs open. I have helped owners to sell clubs when they could be closed by finding buyers willing to try some more and keep the club open. This way the previous owners had something to show for their years of toil and risk and the new owners keeping the entertainers and staff earning while they made a profit.
Now today everybody is closed all at once but the government persecution against the Adult Entertainment Business continues with the exclusion from emergency government assistance and financial aid. This emergency financial relief is withheld from all the legitimate tax paying, licensed Adult Entertainment Businesses. This is outrageous and reprehensible.
The Adult Entertainment Industry has been very good to me. I have met and worked with many fine men and women over the years. Thanks to Don Waitt (ED Magazine) I have been able to meet many of you in Las Vegas. I want to help but there is not much I can do as an expert witness and a real estate broker. I do believe helping each other should be hand to hand and begins at home. I know most of you owners treat your staff and entertainers like family.
There is something I can do. I am receiving some calls from buyers. Truthfully, these buyers are looking for bargains and I know this but some owners are just tired and want out. This is what I can do: I can agree to a commission to sell and at Closing take 1/3 (33%) of the commission and donate that money to your staff and entertainers. This commission rebate program will be for any Closing before January 1, 2021; regardless of whether the buyer or seller pays the commission.
You, the owner, would be in charge of opening the account, the closing agent can wire the 33% of the commission and you would start calling and making donations at your, the owner’s, discretion. I would want the staff and entertainers to know these donations are coming from me and you, the owner, because we care.
