Bonjour mon amis! Comment ca va? Myles Shaffer here. This article will be about the final PSK, a correction to my last column and a reminder, so please read on and learn the details.
Correction: In my last column, I stated that Porn Star Karaoke Club was thirteen and a quarter years old. That was a mistake on my part. As of sometime this month (July), PSK is fourteen years old.
PSK
Tuesday evening, July 25, I went to Sardo’s Grill and Lounge for the last night of Porn Star Karaoke Club, and I was not disappointed by the turn out! There was a line of people waiting to get in. Sardo’s was filled to the legal capacity!
At one point in time, I was told that the line of people waiting to get in had existed since the very start of PSK that evening. The line finally dissipated about an hour and a half before closing time.
Once I got inside, I stood in a spot near the DJ booth for a while. Then, I noticed a couple of people I knew sitting in a large booth, so I went over to say hello. They graciously invited me to sit with them, so I did for the rest of the evening.
Some of the people I saw during the evening were: Lily Cade, Carmen Callaway, Chris Cock, Cytherea, Savannah Jane, the legendary Ron Jeremy, Connie Le, Tee Reel, will Ryder A.K.A. Jeff Mullen, Lucky Starr, John Strong, Spearmint Rhino DJ Tony, and Valentino. And these were just the people I saw outside of Sardo’s.
Once I was inside, I also saw: Melissa Hill, Nicki Hunter who was the DJ and the hostess as usual, adult industry journalist Tod Hunter, Syren De Mer, Allison Moore, Kyle Stone, and Adam Wood.
I’m sure that there were other adult entertainment industry people there both inside and out that I simply did not recognize. (Hey, I don’t know every last person in the industry, especially the ones who work behind the cameras.) It is also possible that some people may have been there but had already left by the time I arrived. (I had fully intended to get there between nine and ten o’clock. Unfortunately, a couple of things I needed to do before I could hit the road took longer than expected forcing me to arrive later than originally planned.)
During the evening, in addition to the karaoke singing, several people took the microphone at various times to briefly speak about the upcoming closing of Sardo’s, the end of PSK, and to thank Seymour for all the fun and good times that have been had in his establishment.
It was my understanding that Seymour himself had given a speech earlier in the evening. I am truly sorry that I wasn’t there in time to hear it even though it may have brought a tear to my eye.
Sardo’s will still be open until closing time, Friday, July 28. At that time, it will slip into the past history category.
I personally want to wish Seymour Satin and all his employees the best of good luck in their respective futures. (I do not wish anything good for the greedy landlord that hit Seymour with such a ridiculously high rent increase last January that Seymour is forced to close his business!)
After Sardo’s had closed for the evening Connie Le and I had a conversation in the parking lot regarding the closing of Sardo’s and the end of PSK. She assured me that she was personally scouting around for another place that would be willing to host PSK. Connie and I agreed that PSK has become an institution of sorts and should not be allowed to die. I hope that Connie will be able to find a new home for PSK in short order.
Owners Expo 25Th Year Reunion
The Exotic Dancer Gentlemen’s Club Owners Expo 25Th Year Reunion and all of the related events will be kicking off in Las Vegas, Nevada, one month from today, July 27.
The Expo will be held in the Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.
Since this will be the 25Th year, the Expo will no doubt be the greatest one in history; therefore, no one who is able to make arrangements to attend should not do so.
The Expo is being held Sunday, August 27, through Wednesday, August 30.
That’s it folks. We should all meet back here the next time to see just what I have been up to next. Until then, everybody stay safe, have a great week, and live life as if there were no tomorrow!
Bonsoir et au revoir,
Myles Shaffer
