Myles’ Weekend Adventures: XRCO Awards
Bonjour mon amis! Comment ca va? Myles Shaffer here. This article will obviously be about an annual adult film industry awards show, so please read on. But first, allow me to remind everybody that it is just three more months from today until the start of the Exotic Dancer Gentlemen’s Club Owners Expo at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada!
Because of the fact that the event is returning to Las Vegas after being held in New Orleans for the last two years, and that it will be the event’s twenty-fifth anniversary, it is certain to be the greatest Expo yet. So, if anybody in the industry that is reading this has not yet made arrangements to attend, they should certainly get busy and do so!
XRCO Awards
Thursday evening, April 27, I drove up to the Ohm Nightclub, in Hollywood, to cover the 2017 XRCO Awards show.
This year’s show was co-hosted by Angela White and Eva Lovia, and the trophy girls were Haley Reed and Honey Gold
Some of the people in attendance this year, other than my editor-in-chief, Steve Nelson, and I, were: Anikka Albrite, Asa Akira, Camille Amore, Joanna Angel, Julia Ann, ��”, Briana Banks, Pamela Balian, Rebecca Bardoux, James Bartholet, Cassidy Bliss, Ariel Blue, Mick Blue, Bailey Brooke, Jason Brown, Lily Cade, Christina Carter, Vicky Chase, Chloe Cherry, Christiana Cinn, Sara St. Clair, Charlie Comet, Darla Crane, Kiki Daire, Abella Danger, Summer Day, Maya Divine, adult industry photographer Dominic, …, Alana Evans, Arielle Faye, and Nicky Ferrari.

The show opened with a very nice tribute to its founder, the late, legendary, Bill “PA Bear” Margold.
Once the tribute was finished, Evan Stone hosted the XRCO Hall of Fame inductions. The inductees this year were: Darla Crane, Eric Masterson, Raylene, Ruby, and House of Dreams 1990 Caballero/Andrew Blake

Best Actor
Tommy Pistol – Suicide Squad XXX: An Axel Braun Parody – ��”icked Comix won the Best Actor trophy over Richie Calhoun – The Submission of Emma Marx: Exposed – New Sensations Erotic Stories, Ryan Ryder – Storm of Kings: XXX Parody – Brazzers/Pulse, Steve Holmes – the One I Lust – Ae Films/Pure Play, Steven St. Croix – Color Blind – BSkow/Girlfriends Films, and Xander Corvus – Beauty and the Beast XXX: An Erotic Fairy Tale Parody – Sparks/Exquisite.
Best Actress

Briana Banks won the Best Cumback award beating out Havana Ginger, Jean Val Jean, McKenzie Lee, Natasha Nice, and Brett Rossi.
Best Director (Features)
This trophy went to Brad Armstrong, who won out over Joanna Angel, James Avalon, Kay Brandt, Stormy Daniels, Jacky St. James, Kayden Kross, and B. Skow.
Best Director (Non-Features)
Grey Lansky won this award besting Jonni Darkko, Manuel Ferrara, Mime Freak, Jules Jordan, Mason, Pat Myne, and Eddie Powell.
Best Director (Parody)
Axel Braun Took this trophy home over Bree Mills & Stills by Alan, Vic Lagina, Lee Roy Myers, Anastasia Pierce, will Ryder, and Harry Sparks.
Best Director (Web)
This award went to Stills by Alan winning out over Ray Dark, Ivan, Glenn King, Keiran Lee, Ryan Madison, and Billy Watson.
Best Lesbian Performer
Shyla Jennings is this year’s Best Lesbian Performer besting the other nominees Lily Cade, Darcie Dolce, Jenna Sativa, Tanya Tate, and Vanessa Veracruz.
Female Performer of the Year
This trophy went to Adriana Chechik who topped Aj Applegate, Vicki Chase, Abella Danger, Keisha Grey, Megan Rain, and Angela White. (Now that took some doing, I’m sure.)
Mainstream Adult Media Favorite
Julia Ann was this year’s Mainstream Adult Media Favorite over Asa Akira, Joanna Angel, Skin Diamond, …, and Nikki Phoenix. (Another illustrious list of nominees.)
Male Performer of the Year
Mick Blue won this trophy over Xander Corvus, Ryan Driller, Manuel Ferrera, Tommy Pistol, Chris Strokes, and Prince Yahshua.
MILF of the Year (30 or older)
The winner of this award was Cherie DeVille who won out over Julia Ann, Mercedes Carrera, Alexis Fawx, Brandi Love, Kendra Lust, and Phoenix Marie.
New Starlet
Elsa Jean beat Alex Grey, Holly Hendrix, Kira Noir, Anya Olsen, Piper Perri, and Lana Rhoades for this trophy.
New Stud
The 2017 New Stud is Ricky Johnson who won against JD Bella, Lucas Frost, Bryan Gozzling, Jordi El Nino Polla, and Donnie Rock.

Vicki Chase took this award over AJ Applegate, Casey Calvert, Adriana Chechik, Abella Danger, Holly Hendrix, Megan Rain, and Romi Rain. (Man, am I ever glad that I didn’t have to be the one to decide this one!)
