Helping to Improve the lives of adult industry veterans, in front of and behind the camera, is one of the primary goals for retired, Hall of Fame actresses Melissa Hill and Ruby. The ladies have asked Adult Performers Actor Guild, to help further their goal. Now APAG is pleased to announce the formation the Adult Industry Support Group, AISG.
The goal of the AISG is to provide veterans of the adult industry, a safe place to discuss topics like their feelings about family issues, the judgments they deal with regarding their careers, and the challenges they face re-integrating with society, just to name a few.
After leaving the industry, many performers find it difficult to adjust to life outside the spotlight and back into a civilian workplace.
“I saw a great need for a support group, not only for performers and former performers, but for those who work behind the camera as well,” says 2nd VP of APAG Melissa Hill. “We need a Safe and Confidential space, where we can feel free to focus on issues unique to the adult industry, without judgment. A place where we can share our experiences on topics ranging from social anxiety issues, stress, interpersonal relationships and many other topics that performers face on a day to day basis.”
Along with that, Ruby adds, “There are a lot of challenges in this industry, challenges for those who are actively performing and those who have retired, for whatever reason. There are unique issues we deal with in this industry, and it affects us all. People who have a support system fair better. If you choose or are forced to retire, you will always find a Community here for you, someone who gets it.”
The AISG will hold its next meeting on Thursday, October 27 from 7:30 to 9:00pm in Hollywood. It is the third bi-weekly session and will feature a special guest speaker who will help guide the peer based support group, to address trauma’s, Ptsd, and social anxiety issues with the group. It promises to be a very informative and helpful evening for all who attend this very special session.
We’d like to assure everyone, that this meeting is safe and confidential, and the address will only be given out directly, to those who contact us via email:
