The News Rack: Fall/Winter 2013My next trip to Las Vegas will be for the 2014 Adult Entertainment Expo, AVN FanFest, Adult Novelty Expo and the AVN Awards Show, and I’m really looking forward to covering it this year as last year Myles Shaffer covered it for Adult Industry News. Myles’ write-up is here: ainews.com/Archives/Story22999.phtml

So while I’m looking forward to the next Las Vegas trip, I can’t help but reflect on the last one when I covered the Exotic Dancer Gentlemen’s Club Owners Expo. First stop was to be The Red Label at 332 W Sahara Ave for Karaoke XXX. Kayla Kleevage was hosting and Katie Morgan was filming a segment for her HBO TV Show. See “Kleevage, Morgan Karaoke XXX” at ainews.com/Archives/Story23673.phtml

I left Sherman Oaks late, like 7:15, and had a 4 hour drive in front of me, so though I had to piss at Pasadena I drove straight on through to The Red Label on Sahara in Las Vegas. I made it, but by the time I got into the parking lot there it felt like my bladder was as big as one of Kayla’s tits!

Rebecca Love does a great job putting together Karaoke XXX. Whenever you are in Las Vegas on a Monday night drop in and rub shoulders – and other body parts – with a bevy of beautiful pornstars. I was delighted to see Rebecca Love again as well as Europe Dichan, Alura Jensen, Claudia Marie, Kitty Hyde, Cytherea, the original Tommy Gunn and Kasey Storm, a Grandpa Munster impersonator that was a dead ringer for Al Lewis, not to mention Kayla Kleevage and Katie Morgan.

The Official Exotic Dancer Expo Opening Night Party was at Larry Flynt’s Hustler Club on Tuesday, August 20. Waiting outside the Hustler Club for Myles to arrive I had a chance to talk to and take a couple of pictures of Alexis Monroe, Maria the Snakebabe and her husband Steve. When Myles arrived we went inside to check out the club.

What a great club! There’s three stories of rooms with balconies and areas to congregate, and if you want to smoke you go up on the roof. There’s a nice well-lit patio up there. The night’s feature shows were performed by Lisa Ann, Teagan Presley and Alexis Texas. They served a nice buffet that night and a tour of the club shows it to be clean and classy! I also spoke with Lil Cassey and Bonnie Rotten while there.

I was delighted to run into Sunny Lane who’s now house dancing there! I talked with her for a while catching up on what was happening with her. Sunny was in Love Boat XXX as the cruise director Julie. I was honored with the roll of Captain Stubing in this parody produced by Will Ryder and Scott David for Adam & Eve Pictures. I must thank Sunny and James Bartholet publicly for the acting tips they shared with me on set.

Before leaving I had the horny pleasure of sitting next to and groping with a very friendly strippers who turned out to be former pornstar Tanya Hardin. It was worth the trip just for that! See her at Larry Flynt’s Hustler Club, 6007 Dean Martin Dr, Las Vegas.

The Expo itself is always fun seeing old friends and making new ones. Brandy Aniston, Teal Conrad, and Rikki Six were at the LA Direct Model’s booth. I saw Gaia who I find incredibly intriguing, my old friend Destiny B Wilde, and met Danica Dillon for the first time. Monique Alexander was there too and looks better than ever with a sleeve of tattoos.

There were contests in the back of the main room that broke up the shows into segments that happened throughout the expo. I was really happy to see Teri Weigel walking around. It was good to give her a big hug and catch up a bit.

Joanna Angel and Shay Lynn were there too, and I met Kayla-Jane Danger for the first time. Kayla-Jane is impressive in person – strikingly beautiful and obviously intelligent!

After the expo, the closing party at Sapphire’s Gentlemen’s Club in The Off Broadway Show Room. I went early and got a nice tour of the new pool area by one of the managers, and met a very beautiful, very tall girl named Kayka. She kept me company for a while and told me a lot of great things about the club. While talking to Kayka who should walk up but Zoe Holiday! Zoe is more or less retired from porn, but if you want to see her you might get lucky and catch her when she dances at Sapphire’s.

When it was show time we all filed into The Off Broadway Show Room and settled in. Lisa Ann hosted the show and the show was great! There was Skankasaurus Wrecks, a new duo act with Simone Danalustrous and Lacey Rain, and Jaded Dawn did a routine with two live snakes.

A word about Jaded Dawn: Jaded Dawn can’t take a bad picture. My camera is in love with her! In fact, she’s so photogenic that most cameras actually want to elope with her. She has hundreds of cameras in her closet because photographer’s camera’s fall in love with her and run away to show up on her doorstep with no return address.

The Diamond Dolls, Richelle Ryan and Lisa Licious, had a number where Lisa was a teacher and Richelle a school girl. These girls make a great team and do a dynamite show! Richelle also won the 2013 Adult Movie Feature Dance Entertainer this year.

Then my mind was completely blown. This act was so good it scared me! The Suicide Sirens, consisting of Chelsea, Jesabel, and Billie, was an act that went beyond anything I’ve ever seen! I was so in awe that it’s hard for me to remember who did what but here goes: One girl danced on broken glass on a blanket, rolling around and smashing her body down until you could see little cuts bleeding on her skin. Then they all started stapling money to their bodies with a stapler and went into the audience where people could staple tips on their toned tanned torsos and legs. Next one of them had an industrial grinder making sparks sharpening an axe with sparks flying all over their bodies while they were dancing around with money stapled to their themselves. I don’t remember much after that. My brain had been fried!

I’m hoping the next trip to Las Vegas for the 2014 AVN AEE and AVN Awards Show can top the last trip, but it will be hard to beat! I’ll put another issue on The News Rack after the January show. If there’s anything you would like to see get covered on The News Rack write me, Steve Nelson, and let me know what you would like to see featured in The News Rack.
