Myles’ Weekend Adventures: Bare Bowling Canceled! Bonjour mon amis! Comment ca va? Myles Shaffer here. This short article will be one that I really wish I didn’t have to write. If anybody might be interested in learning about some of the latest antics of hypocrites and fourth-rate bureaucrats, they should by all means read on.
Bare Bowling Canceled
Early Sunday evening, September 1, I wasted three gallons of gasoline driving to Montrose for the PAW Foundation’s Bare Bowling event and back home again.
The wasted gasoline was not my fault, nor was it the PAW Foundation’s fault. It was the fault of some local holier-than-thou hypocrites who don’t know how to keep their noses out of other people’s business and the fourth rate politicians and bureaucrats who run the city of Glendale! They caused the event to be canceled, and I failed to get the word in time not to make the drive.
Last Thursday, August 29, the owner of the bowling alley where the Bare Bowling event was supposed to take place got a call for somebody representing the city of Glendale. The person asked him about the event and what type of fundraiser it was to be. He honestly told the person that it was a private party and what it was all about.
The city person then said that some people had been calling and complaining about the impending event. The person also said that the city of Glendale was going to notify the California ABC (Alcoholic Beverage Control) about the event.
The bureaucrat when on to ask if the bowling alley served food. When the owner said no, the bureaucrat said that if the bowling alley was serving alcohol, it had to serve food. The bureaucrat said that if somebody walked in and asked for a hamburger, the owner had to give the person a hamburger. The bureaucrat also told the owner that private party or not, if anybody walked in off the street without a ticket, they had to be allowed in and served.
So in the interest of keeping his alcohol license and saving his business, the bowling alley owner regretfully canceled the event. (He graciously gave the PAW Foundation back half of the deposit to reserve the bowling alley for the evening. Also, many ticket holders refused their refunds and donated the cost of their tickets.)
I, for one, will never again spend a single penny in Montrose, Glendale, or any area that is under the control of Glendale! And I recommend that anybody who is in the adult entertainment industry and any fans of adult entertainment also boycott Glendale and any of its outlying areas!
That’s enough bad news for now. Everybody should catch my next column and read about hot, beautiful, young women. Until then, everybody stay safe, have a great week, and live life as if there were no tomorrow!
Bonsoir et au revoir,
Myles Shaffer
