(RAHWAY, NJ) — Organizers for the 2013 CineKink Festival announce cities and dates for its annual cross-country Festival Tour. The “kinky film festival” is in the midst of celebrating its 10th anniversary year, celebrating and encouraging sex-positive and kink-friendly depictions in film and television.
CineKink launches the first part of their 2013 Festival Tour with public screenings in Portland (August 4), Oakland (August 8), Austin (September 20), and Chicago (September 21).
“My favorite part of CineKink is connecting smart, sexy films and their makers with a like-minded audience,” said Lisa Vandever, Co-Founder and Director of CineKink. “It’s a true thrill taking some of our best offerings out on the road, and introducing them to new crowds throughout the country.”
The touring version of the festival is drawn from works screened at the annual CineKink NYC festival, which takes place each year in late February. The “Best of CineKink” short films program is composed of productions awarded prizes by CineKink jurors at the New York festival, with works ranging from documentary to drama, comedy to experimental, mildly spicy to quite explicit. This year’s edition, the “Best of CineKink/2013,” includes 50 Seconds of 50 Shades (Bo Blaze), Naked Love: Ea’s Garden (Sara Kimmel), Impact (Mollena Williams), Rift (Keith Hodder), Ritual (Jörg Fockele), Zucht Und Ordnung (Jan Soldat), Amber (Aven Frey, Gala Vanting, and Frank Ly), Krutch (Clark Matthews), and Pinecone (Michael Markham).
In addition, the award-winning dramatic feature, Remedy, will be shown in Portland and Chicago, with filmmaker Cheyenne Picardo attending for post-screening Q&As in both cities. Remedy received an Audience Choice Award for Best Narrative Feature at the New York festival.
