Bound by Desire tinkers with a new cinematic formula for romance and flogging, love and ball gags, all complimented with penetrative sex. Perfect for fetish-oriented couples, the film presents three women who face differing commitments to the love of bondage.
First is Chanel Preston, eager for punishment and rough sex. Though she’s Evan Stone’s submissive wife, Chanel dictates her pleasures. Next is Casey Calvert, Richie Calhoun’s girlfriend. She’s his collared submissive and Richie plans to give her (whore her out?) to his pals. An uneasy Casey dreams of a more “normal” vanilla-type relationship of love and trust like the one her friend Allie Haze has with Ryan Driller.
The film’s opening sex scene features Elexis Monroe/Evan Stone action and sets the tone for the movie. Elexis at first is reluctant, but after being tied to the bed, gets to work quickly. Her wantonness draws in the viewer while posing the question that lies at the heart of this very provocative film. Is a BDSM relationship normal?
Perhaps more than we think. A dinner conversation turns into an impromptu invitation for a bit of bondage fun. In the presence of Chanel and Casey, Evan says to Richie,
“Sir, do me the honor of beating my wife.”
His words are a green light for the slutty Chanel who responds enthusiastically, “Let’s go play!”
After Evan binds his wife and applies a flogger to her, he pauses to watch Richie work her over with a riding crop. Chanel’s red marks blister the room with carnal anticipation. Chanel does not disappoint. Her oral performance on Richie is eager and furious, and that’s for starters.

Allie, the third girl in this tale, is out to reform her lover, who keeps a stable of subs to flog.
Allie and Ryan’s ice cream and bondage frolic (vanilla flavored, of course) is not to be missed. Teal Conrad, one of Ryan’s subs, is later strapped to a St. Andrew’s Cross in a magnificent punishment scene. Bound to a spanking bench, Allie watches Teal flinch under the implement’s impact. Allie may be reforming Ryan, but has she parted ways with BDSM’s allure?
Casey remains conflicted. She wants the love and trust she believes Allie has found, but is drawn to BDSM like a moth to light. How best to cope? Pleasure yourself, as she does in a beautifully shot masturbation episode.
As a nod to vanilla lovers, the afternoon delight (a fantasy of Casey’s vision of “normal”) with the adorable Kimmy Olsen and Danny Wylde is perfect.
Though a master-slave relationship can be sweetly tantalizing, red flags of uncertainty flutter in women who are giving themselves over to the fetish. In facing her personal conflicts between vanilla and fetish, each woman in Bound by Desire entertains the viewer with her trampy best.
