(LOS ANGELES, CA) — Vivid Entertainment movie director and rocker Phil Varone will host the kick-off party on Thursday, April 25 for the third annual the Button South Class Reunion at the Cheetah Hallandale, which is the physical location of the Button South (100 Ansin Blvd., Hallandale, Fla 33009, 954-455-2131).
Phil Varone photo www.vivid.com the Button South was the night club that defined rock‘n roll in South Florida during the 80s and 90s, with live punk and heavy metal music and partying until 6 am. Varone was drummer for two of the great bands of the era, Saigon Kick and Skid Row.
The kick-off party will also celebrate the publication of Varone’s tell-all memoir “Unphiltered: Real Life On and Off the Rock ‘N Roll Tour Bus” from Riverdale Avenue Books and the release of his latest movie from Vivid Entertainment, “100% Real Swingers: Big Bear.” Varone has been a swinger for over 20 years and the Big Bear film marks the latest in his swingers movie series. Admission to the party sponsored by Vivid Entertainment and California Exotics is complimentary and there will be gift bags and give-aways.
Following the kick-off event, Button South Class Reunion III parties will take place on April 26 & 27 at the Culture Room in Fort Lauderdale. (3045 N. Federal Hwy, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla 33306, 954-564-1074) Varone will co host the two-day reunion with Steve Stansell S (97GIR), Liz Wilde (Wshe), Madman Mike (97 Gtr), and Bill Murphy (97 Gtr). There will be 10 bands performing that played on the Button South stage including Gypsy Queen, Driver, Steven Jude & the Rising, Heartless, Motor Canaveral, the Legion, Miami Dolls and Phineas J. Whoopie.
Tickets are available through Ticketmaster or at the box office for $12 per night or $20 for the entire weekend. Guests won’t hear a single song recorded after 1996, but will hear why, after 20 years, people travel from all over the country to reunite to the rhythm of the Button South.
