So today I have decided to take my column in a different direction because truly, it is not always about me. There are a lot of other people in the world and not all of them are so fortunate as us that wake up in the morning in a comfy bed, check our smart phones, choose a breakfast from a wide array of foods in the pantry and head off to work to make more money.

Yeah, there are a Lot of people in the world that are not as fortunate as us and it really is not our responsibility to take care of them but that doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t do what we can to help them which is why I am here today on behalf of my good friend who has decided to do his part.

April 7, 2013, Jack Napier will be doing a 5k walk in Exposition Park in Los Angeles in support of the Pasadena Ronald McDonald House 2013 Walk for Kids in which all funds will be used directly to help those in need in Southern California. I have seen first hand how important this walk and fundraiser is to Jack and anything that is important to my friends is important to me, especially if it has to do with helping those in need.

In all seriousness I have seen him online trying to raise these funds, I have heard him talking on the phone, to people in person and this is something very serious and he is extremely passionate about this and I feel like those reading this should be as well. I know if you are sitting here reading this that you pay for internet (or maybe you steal it? But you have a device to access the internet on!) so you can surely afford to pay it forward with at least $1 to help these children in need.

In addition to the fundraising, Jack is also trying to raise awareness of the whole Ronald Mc Donald House mission of providing assistance to children and families in need in the Southern California area. Often he has said, “I would rather have 200 people donate $5 than to have one person donate $1000,” so I hope you can all find it in your heart to donate something and spread the word. It is understandable that times are tough so even if you cannot afford so little as a $1 donation please at the very least share the links at the end of this with everyone you know, post links on FaceBook, Twitter, talk to people at your work, your friends, your family, lets get this awareness and money raised. Do something positive and worthwhile!

Here are some further thoughts and information from Jack:

“Y O U talk the talk… “I ‘ L L” walk the walk!” – Jack Napier

April 7, 2013, I will be walking 3.2 miles at Exposition Park in Los Angeles in support of the Pasadena Ronald McDonald House 2013 “Walk for Kids”.

Now, I know what you’re thinking:

“Jack, that’s awesome! What can I do to help?”

Well, I’m so glad you asked. The Walk for Kids™ is a 5K event to raise funds… And awareness for the services and programs provided by Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern California. That said, I’d rather have 100 people donate $5 than to have 1 person donate $500, but if $500 is all you can do, I totally understand that.

Now, if you’re not in a position to part with any money at all, I understand that, too.

But you are reading. So you Do have Facebook. And you are online right now. So if you have any Friends At All, please share this link with them.

And encourage them to help out in anyway that they comfortably can.

It’ll make you feel good, it’ll make Them feel good, and for the children and families receiving aid due to your contributions, it’ll be absolutely priceless.

Thank you,

Jack!
