(LOS ANGELES, CA) — The Wicked Girls are preparing to take Century City by storm this Friday, January 11 as they attend the 11th Annual XBIZ Awards. The popular gala is being held for the first time at the Century Plaza in Los Angeles, with hosting provided by noted mainstream actor / comedian Orlando Jones (Liberty Heights, Mad TV) and Tera Patrick.
The red carpet is being hosted by Wicked Girl jessica drake and industry veteran Kirsten Price. Ms. drake is also one of the night’s featured presenters, a distinction she shares with her recently signed Wicked sister (and XBIZ Female Performer of the Year nominee) Samantha Saint. It’s a welcome return to the XBIZ fold for jessica, who hosted last year’s show.
Staying true to XBIZ magazine’s goal of “honoring the influential companies and performers who play an essential role in the growth and popularity of adult entertainment around the globe,” this Friday’s event finds the company and the lines it distributes nominated for over 80 major awards, an impressive tally made possible by the high-caliber work of the company’s contract talent, the distribution of equally impressive work by others and ventures into emerging markets.
Over half of these nominations are for the impressive quartet of mega-productions Wicked produced and / or distributed in 2012: Brad Armstrong’s Men in Black: A Hardcore Parody and Countdown (both Wicked Pictures), Marcus London’s Spartacus Mmxii: The Beginning (London Gunn Films and Miko Lee Productions, distributed by Wicked Pictures), and Inglorious Bitches (Video Marc Dorcel, distributed by Wicked Pictures). In addition to Ms. Saint’s Female Performer of the Year nomination, Stormy Daniels, jessica drake, Kaylani Lei and Alektra Blue all received multiple performing and/or filmmaking nominations.
For her part, Ms. drake is looking forward to Friday with no small amount of anticipation. “Hosting the XBIZ Awards last year was a lot of fun, and I can’t wait to host their red carpet! The show is even bigger this year, and I’m looking forward to interviewing the biggest names in adult alongside one of the greatest co-hosts of all time, Kirsten Price.
