Robert “Corpsy” Rhine, Publisher/Deaditor-in-Chief of Girls and Corpses Magazine, explains, “I wrote the live action pilot for Sailor Moon (for Bandai Entertainment) so I’m familiar with the hit Japanese animated cartoon. I have also worked with Sheri Moon Zombie who graced the first cover of Girls and Corpses Magazine and I am a great admirer of her brilliant performances in ‘House of 1,000 Corpses,’ ‘the Devil’s Rejects’ and ‘Rob Zombie’s Halloween 1 & 2’. So, I thought why not blend those 2 ideas together? I hired Girls and Corpses artist Nenad Gucunja to do our artwork. I then brought in Quentin Jones of the Reach Around Rodeo Clowns (who does the music for our Girls and Corpses videos) to compose a song with his all female band the Clownettes. I wanted the song to have a cartoony vibe like the Sailor Moon TV series but with a dark, sick and twisted edge. After several recordings, Quentin and I finally created a killer song!” Listen here at: sailormoonzombie.com/ (Scroll down on the site to the song).

Quentin Jones, Producer/songwriter at Lanark Records (founder of the psychobilly band the Reach Around Rodeo Clowns) describes his vision, “It’s always a blast working with Robert ‘Corpsy’ Rhine and I love the challenge of writing and producing music for movies, television and Girls and Corpses Magazine! Sailor Moon Zombie combines the energy of a Saturday morning cartoon theme song combined with the vibe of the Ramones, the Shangri-Las and the Runaways. Several people have even commented that it sounds like Sheri Moon Zombie on the soundtrack.”
