(RESEDA, CA) — Girlfriends Films’ charity program is devoting its resources to adult performer Elexis Monroe. The popular performer and director for Girlfriends Films is currently afflicted with severe infections and abscesses in her face. December’s $1000 charity donation will help fund Monroe’s medical treatment.

After one surgery, and with several more looming on the horizon, Elexis Monroe remains positive, tweeting updates on a regular basis. A November 29 tweet reads, “It’s amazing to me that my fans, my friends, my industry is helping save my life, my hearing, smell, face, mouth. Wow!” her spirits were also lifted with news of the 2013 XBIZ Awards All-Girl release of the Year nomination for “Elexis and her Girlfriends: Volume 2,” directed by and starring Monroe.

AVN Media founder Paul Fishbein kicked off the 2012 giving with a donation to Best Friend Animal Society, followed by Tanya Tate’s gift to the National Breast Cancer Coalition, XBIZ Managing Editor Dan Miller’s donation to the American Red Cross, AVN Senior Editor Mark Kernes’ donation to the Guttmacher Institute, ’ selection of Treasures, and more.
Any Girlfriends Films performers interested in participating may apply by emailing the following information to PR@GirlfriendsFilms.com: name, AIP charity of choice, reason(s) for selecting the charity. Chosen performers will be asked to submit a personal photo depicting the performer engaged with the charity, the charity’s mission, or a similar charitable act. The photo will be used for promotional purposes.
