Cinema Seen by William Margold: The Golden Goddesses, a Book Signing
As we somewhat reluctantly settle into the cold fog of our mortality, we tend to find ourselves crying more… and easier.
Essentially it is the perfect ending to our existence that began when we cried more… and easier, because we were being blinded by the bright lights of our youth.
On Thursday evening November 29, a rather formidable book called Golden Goddesses (written by Jill C. Nelson) will be given its World Premiere at Hustler Hollywood (8920 Sunset Blvd, Hollywood, CA).
And on that evening, over 40 years of my life – from the stunning light of entering into XXX as an eager to learn everything fan to becoming a knowing considerably more than I would ever want to know fan (with a myriad of physical and psychological stops along the way) – will have gone full circle.
And as I go through the evening, I shall be waving a weighty copy of Jill’s creation in my hand enthusiastically, much like I used to do with the program from a pro football game as I entered the tunnel exit at the southwest end of the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum to get autographs from the fearless fellows who played for my favorite team: The Detroit Lions, when they came to town once a year during the Fifties, Sixties, and Seventies, to play the Rams.
Now however, for a rambunctious new friend who was introduced into my life by Golden Goddess Jody Maxwell, named Tom Novak – who ironically did play professional football for the Los Angeles Raiders, and who used to exit from that very same tunnel back in the early 80s – I will be dutifully and delightfully humbled to present the book that I will have purchased for him that evening at Hustler to each of the Golden Goddesses in attendance so that they can sign something timeless to him… because, way down deep, he is truly a fan, and because I know that he will treasure their thoughts.
And I sincerely hope that my earnest actions of seeking signatures from those Golden Goddesses present – and many, Many, MANY have promised to be there – will be emulated by the fans that attend the Hustler Store event.
And in what I consider a humble attempt at appreciating what Jill C. Nelson (who will be attending the 11-29-12 event) has created, the following is what you’ll find when you open the book:
They were the proud providers of our vicarious sexual entertainment, capable of launching millions of wet dreams by allowing us to utilize their alluring assets for the fulfillment of our basest desires – essentially sinematic Circes beckoning us to crash upon their seductive shores. And as proudly presented by author Jill Nelson in “Golden Goddesses” – they are also fascinating, multi-talented human beings who strove to fit into the society that they satiated…once their carnal cinema careers ended. With a remarkably tender, almost adoptive tone, Nelson presents a cross-section of adult entertainment personalities, most of whom attained “legendary status” in the eyes of their fans as well as the minds of their peers, to give the reader a multi-dimensional look at a world that undulated under the letter X from the late Sixties into the mid-Eighties. And if one of your “fondling favorites” is missing here, perhaps Nelson can be persuaded to do a follow-up called “Vibrating Vixens.”
I was determined to conclude this page with something considerably less heavy that I opened it with… and while my own carnal cinema career is lustily laced with the erotic adventures that I enjoyed with a number of the Goddesses… there’s one that is as silly as it is sweetly Golden.
We were on the set of something called “Auditions” and the radiant Rhonda Jo Petty was voraciously chewing bubble-gum. Although the 1978 adult film was not supposed to be totally sexplicit, when Rhonda Jo and I found ourselves in a 69-position opportunity that allowed us to do more than the camera could see, my instinctual pleasuring her beyond the simulation level resulted in her repaying the “slavor” (salivating favor). And when we had given the director enough – and had given each other even more – Rhonda sat up, shook her luxuriant mane, and relocated her bubblegum from way up under her left cheek. Then she noticed my querying look, and purred, “Hell, I didn’t want to waste a good piece of gum.”
