(CHATSWORTH, CA) — Girlfriends Films is donating $1000 to the American Red Cross on behalf of XBIZ Executive Managing Editor Dan Miller. The monetary gift is the March 2012 selection for Girlfriends Films’ monthly charity program. Past charities include Lambda Legal, Muscular Dystrophy Association, NPR, Cancer Research Institute, and more. The XBIZ Editor’s donation goes towards assisting emergency relief both domestically and internationally.

Girlfriends Films calls on its strong community of fans and followers to join Dan Miller in helping those in need. Donations of all sizes may be made directly to the American Red Cross at american.redcross.org/site/ SPageServer? s_subsrc=RCO_BigRedButton&pagename= ntld_main&s_src=RSG000000000.

Discussing the selection of the American Red Cross, Miller says, “I have the utmost respect for the tireless efforts of the American Red Cross, an organization that always answers the call when people are in need. They place themselves on the front lines of natural disasters and respond to emergencies both domestically and abroad when humanitarian aid is the only hope.”

Miller continues, “When Dan O’Connell asked me about participating in the Girlfriends Films’ charity program, I was humbled to recommend a donation to this amazing foundation that has made such a profound impact on the world.”

Dan Miller was a recent guest of Girlfriend Films’ talk show, “The Kinky & Creepy Show,” which is hosted by Dana DeArmond and Samantha Ryan. The show is available exclusively through Girlfriends Films’ member site, www.GFFMembers.com.

Girlfriends Films has a long history of charitable contributions, having donated over $20,000 in 2011. Last year the company recently restructured its charity program from an annual end-of-year donation to an ongoing, monthly program. 2011 donations included Melissa Monet’s choice of Planned Parenthood, Lily Cade’s selection of Lambda Legal, Ryan Keely’s pick of NPR, Trinity St. Clair’s selection of Life 4 Paws, Jiz Lee’s donation to a California girls organization, Dyanna Lauren’s donation to Child Find of America, Cindy’s selection of Cancer Research Institute, Jelena Jensen’s selection of Best Friends Animal Society, and Samantha Ryan’s choice of the Muscular Dystrophy Association. AVN Media founder Paul Fishbein kicked off the 2012 giving with a donation to Best Friend Animal Society, followed by Tanya Tate’s gift to the National Breast Cancer Coalition.

Any Girlfriends Films performers interested in participating may apply by emailing the following information to PR@GirlfriendsFilms.com: name, AIP charity of choice, reason(s) for selecting the charity. Chosen performers will be asked to submit a personal photo depicting the performer engaged with the charity, the charity’s mission, or a similar charitable act. The photo will be used for promotional purposes.

About the American Red Cross:

Since its founding in 1881 by visionary leader Clara Barton, the American Red Cross has been the nation’s premier emergency response organization. As part of a worldwide movement that offers neutral humanitarian care to the victims of war, the American Red Cross distinguishes itself by also aiding victims of devastating natural disasters. Over the years, the organization has expanded its services, always with the aim of preventing and relieving suffering. Today, in addition to domestic disaster relief, the American Red Cross offers compassionate services in five other areas: community services that help the needy; support and comfort for military members and their families; the collection, processing and distribution of lifesaving blood and blood products; educational programs that promote health and safety; and international relief and development programs.
