(BARCELONA, SPAIN) — Kart racers already are revving their engines for the second event in the YNOT Grand Prix’s 2012 championship season. Presented by 2000Charge, the race will rocket from the starting gate at 4 p.m. March 5, helping to kick off the European Summit – Barcelona, which will take place March 5-8.
Racers will have to think faster than they can drive in order to survive the internationally respected Indoor Karting Barcelona track riddled with chicanes, demanding curves and scaled Formula 1 features found nowhere else.
“The track is probably the best out of the four we’ll see this year,” said YNOT Group LLC Business Development Director Moreno “Mo” Aguiari. “It’s the most technically advanced track in the world, with 500 m of asphalt for perfect balance between grip and slip. This track has plenty of chicanes, the Indianapolis straightaway, a Spa-Francorchamps descent, the Tunnel of Monaco, a refueling area, and fast, slow and technically demanding curves. A two-time world champion and current Ferrari Formula 1 driver races there regularly,” he added.
The YNOT Grand Prix series offers team and driver championships. Divided into groups, competitors complete a 10-minute practice session and a 10-minute qualifying session at each event. The fastest finishers face off in a final grudge match to determine the ultimate champion. Component events in Las Vegas, Barcelona, Phoenix and Prague provide participants with an opportunity to network amidst cutthroat competition. Food, drinks and transportation to and from the tracks are provided for racers and spectators.
“We at the European Summit are very excited that YNOT will not only host one but two of their great YNOT Grand Prix races at our events this year,” said summit organizer Andreas Bischoff. “The YNOT Grand Prix series has got to be the most successful series of entertainment events our industry currently has on offer.”
The Barcelona race has room for a total of 35 drivers. To check seat availability or inquire about sponsorship opportunities, email jay@YNOT.com or ping ICQ 92418228.
