MWA: Karaoke XXX, AVN AEE, Legends of Erotica Hall of Fame, AVN Awards Show Red Carpet
Bonjour mon amis! Comment ca va? Myles Shaffer here. I ended my last column by stating that I would be going to Las Vegas, Nevada, the following week and attending the AVN Adult Entertainment Expo. Well, I did just that; therefore, everybody should read on while I brag about all the fun I had being surrounded for six days by more beautiful women than one can shake a stick at.
Karaoke XXX
Monday, January 16, I drove up to Las Vegas with a stop at the Golden Corral, in Hesperia, to pig out. Once in Las Vegas, I checked into my hotel before attending Karaoke XXX in the Rio Hotel and Casino’s King’s Room.
During the time I spend at Karaoke XXX, I saw the producer, who is my friend Rebecca Love, and the hostesses for the evening, Tara Lynn Foxx and Lizz Tayler.
Other people whom I knew that were in attendance were adult industry jack-of-all-trades Dominic, Candi Hart, Jenny Hendricks, Paige Little, adult industry photographer Gordon Mui, and Sami Sorrentino.
During the evening, I met for the first time, that I’m aware of, Sheridan Love, Monroe Valentina, Claudia Valentine, and Coco Velvet.
While I didn’t get an opportunity to meet her, I did see Christi Rose there.
Last but not least, I met a lovely young African-American lady who told me that she was considering getting into the adult film industry. When she told me the name she was using, I suggested a few spellings to her. She said that she really liked the idea of Candi Reign. Time will tell I suppose.
Italian Food and Great People
Tuesday evening, January 17, I went to the Sicilian Restaurant where I had dinner with my editor-in-chief Steve Nelson, Tod Hunter, and the legendary Bill Margold. Also joining us were three people I had not had the pleasure of meeting before. One was David Bertonello and another was the newest Adult Industry News Columnist Leya Falcon. (All of my readers should also read her columns. She is a good and very entertaining writer. She also just happens to be very beautiful.) There was one other lady in our dinner party. However, since I only learned her real name, and I don’t know whether or not she has an alias, I am not going to write her name for the entire world to see. [Let’s call her “Huge-Boobed Golddigger” -Ed.]
AVN Adult Entertainment Expo
Wednesday, January 18, I attended the first day of the AVN Adult Entertainment Expo. The people I know, or have at least met before, whom I saw during the day were: Asa Akira, John Alleyn, Lisa Ann, Lexi Belle, Breanne Benson, Charley Chase, Vicky Chase, Dave Cummings, the publisher of Stiletto Magazine Gary Gottlieb, the publisher of GlamorGirl Magazine Rich Hansen, Max Hardcore, Candi Hart, Allie Haze, Tod Hunter of course, Prinzzess Felicity Jade, Jesse Jane, Eric John, Bibi Jones, Kagney Linn Karter, Kayden Kross, Tessa Lane, Brooklyn Lee, Shy Love, Phoenix Marie, Magdalene St. Michaels, Steve Nelson of course, Bree Olson, Mr. Pete, Chanel Preston, Kristina Rose, Selena Rose, Sinn Sage, John Stagliano, Stoya, Alexis Texas and Tarryn Wylde.
The people I met for the first time were: Emily Addison, Air Force Amy, of the Moonlight Bunny Ranch fame and one of the stars of the HBO, “Cat House,” series, Jessie Andrews, Dani Daniels, Skin Diamond, Nicky Ferrari, Ana Foxxx, Indianna Jaymes, Lily Karter, London Keyes, Sicily Lanaya, Holly Michaels, Karlie Montana, Leslie Sierra, Riley Steele, Cece Stone, Sienna West and Britney Young.
Thursday, January 19Th, I returned to the AVN Adult Entertainment Expo.
On this day, in addition to many of the people I saw the day before, the people attending that I knew were: Tori Black, Lizzy Borden, Chris Charming, Kiki Daire, Jada Deville, Ashley Fires, Tara Lynn Foxx, the original Tommy Gunn and Elizabeth Starr, the reigning Tommy Gunn, Ron Jeremy, Jelena Jensen, Devon Lee, Sunny Leone, Marcus London, Rebecca Love, Shy Love (Whom I saw the day before.) and her little sister Diamond Kitty, Marie McCray, Caroline Pierce, Kirsten Price, Tasha Reign, Missy Rhodes (when I met Missy last year, she was using the name Missy Gold.), Kelly Shibari, Charmane Star, India Summer, Alison Tyler and Valentino.
Three other good people I saw that I knew were founder and CEO of LA Direct Models Derek Hay, and Scott Alexander and Archie who both work for LA Direct Models.
The people I met for the first time were: Aiden Aspen, Alex Chance, Maureen Chen, Trinity St. Clair, Whitney Grace, Joslyn James, Jacky Joy, Nikki Lee who is a model that is considering the idea of getting into the adult film industry, Leilani Leeane, Syren De Mer, Maserati, Sarah Shevon, Thea Sommers and Cianna Star (I don’t think either Thea or Cianna are in the industry, but I thought I would mention them just in case.), Kelli Staxxx, Sovereign Syre, Sativa Verte, Tarra White (I don’t rmember whether or not I managed to meet Tarra in 2010, but I most definitely saw her, and I have a photo to prove it.), and Prince Yahshua.
Friday, January 20, I again returned to the AVN Adult Entertainment Expo. I again saw most of the people I had seen over the last two days. The people known to me whom I saw for the first time were: Brandi Aniston , Julia Ann, Brad Armstrong, Naomi Banxxx, Amy Brooke, Alektra Blue, Capri Cavalli, Stormy Daniels, Nikki Delano, jessica drake, Alexis Ford, publicist for Ideal Image Management Isiah James IV, Kaylani Lei, Shay Lynn, Jynx Maze, Nina Mercedez, Aleksa Nicole, Athena Pleasures, Priya Rai, Raylene, Taylor Stevens, Puma Swede, Vicky Vette and Taylor Wane.
On this day, the people I met for the first time were: Eden Adams, Anikka Albrite, Serena Ali, Emily B, Julie Cash, Casey Cumz, Tia Cyrus, Desiree Deluka, Cherie Deville, Roberta Gemma, Kelley Mae Hellfire, Ash Hollywood, Lacie James, Cadence St. John, Kendall Karson, Anissa Kate, Lia, Brandi Love, Victoria Love, Erin Marxxx, Berkely Meyers, Sara Monroe, Liza Del Sierra, Dee Siren, Christina Skye, Aiden Starr, Katie Summers, Tracey Sweet, Monique Symone, Tania Tapia and Carmen Valentina.
And last but certainly not the least, I finally had the good fortune to meet Chyna in person!
For those who may not be in the know, Chyna is a former female WWE wrestler who is now a member of the adult film industry. She was one of the first two or three WWE Divas to pose for a layout in Playboy Magazine. And, Chyna paved the way for all of the WWE Divas to come along after her.
Legends of Erotica Hall of Fame
After the convention had closed for the day, I went to Showgirls Video to attend the Legends of Erotica Hall of Fame inductions.
The master of ceremonies for the event was the legendary Bill Margold, of course.
Bill Introduced newcomer to the industry and Adult Industry News’ newest columnist Leya Falcon.
As for the inductions, Kayla Kleevage was inducted by her husband John. Next Felecia was inducted by Ed Powers. Then Julia Ann inducted herself. (She also had one of her biggest fans come up onto the stage to assist her with the induction.) The reason Julia Ann inducted herself for the most part was this. The one person she would most have liked to do the induction couldn’t be there because of being in very bad health.
Up next was Steve Houston and Ron Jeremy inducting Tony Montana. (Tony clowned around so much and was so funny, he practically stole the show! [Tony’s clowning around was greatly assisted by a considerable amount of input from Julia Ann.]) After this, Marco Palotti inducted Katie Morgan. Finishing up the inductions was Mr. Marcus returning the favor and inducting Lexington Steele. (Lexington and Julian St. Jox inducted Mr. Marcus last year.)
Some of the other people in attendance were: Randi Storm, Alexandra Silk and Luc Wylder, Tod Hunter, my editor-in-chief Steve Nelson, Nadia Night, the Chorrizo Brothers and the original Tommy Gunn.
During the evening, I finally had the extreme pleasure of meeting Zoe Holiday.
AVN Adult Entertainment Expo, Again
On Saturday, January 21, I attended the last day of the AVN Adult Entertainment Expo.
In addition to lots of people I had already seen over the previous three days, the people I saw on this day that I already knew or had at least met before were: Britney Andrews, Belladonna, Izzy Charms, Lily Labeau, Mimi Miyagi, Amber Peach, Evan Stone and Randi Storm.
And last but not least, the people I met for the first time on this day were: Eden Alexander, Capri Anderson, Emma Ash, Victoria Rae Black, Bree Daniels, Ela Darling, Ariana Fox, Aaliyah Love, Jincey Lumpkin, Mariah Marie, Charlie Ninja, Brett Rossi, Christie Stevens and Helen Yee.
I also met one other beautiful young woman. However, I somehow neglected to jot her name down in my pocket notebook, and to save my soul, I have not been able to figure out who she was even though I have a photo of her. My apologizes to the lady. The only thing I can tell anybody at this point in time is the fact that she was stationed to the left of Jynx Maze at the time I met her. (That would be to the left from Jynx’s point of view.)
AVN Awards Show Red Carpet
The final day of the Expo ended at 4PM. I had managed to drag my body out to my car even though my legs and feet were killing me.
I had opened the trunk of my car, put a bag of goodies into it, and was reaching up to remove my external flash from my camera to put it away when my cell phone began to sound off. It was my editor-in-chief Steve Nelson.
I answered my phone and learned that Steve’s camera was acting up, plus he had been recruited to escort Destiny B. Wilde across the red carpet that evening. Because of these two things, he asked me to photograph the people walking the red carpet.
So, even though I was pretty much exhausted, I closed my trunk, armed my car alarm, and went back into the hotel to do what I could for the cause.
When the red carpet event started, I ached from my hips down to the soles of my feet. By the time it was finished, I ached from the base of my skull down to about a foot into the floor! (I never knew that holding four or five pounds worth of camera and external flash could take such a toll on a human body! And my camera and flash aren’t the largest in the world, thank goodness!)
I don’t believe I’ve ever seen so many people walking an adult industry red carpet event in all the years I’ve been associated with the industry!

And that is that. I had a great time at the AVN AEE as always. I saw a lot of industry friends and got to meet a bunch of industry people who are new, or who were at the least new to me.
I would highly recommend that any fan of the adult entertainment industry reading this column should make every effort to attend at least one day of the AVN AEE during their lifetime. They will not find an event with a higher number of stars, starlets, and industry superstars in attendance anywhere else!
Now for anybody who doesn’t know how to treat, “my ladies,” with the courtesy and respect they so richly deserve, forget it. I would just as soon such people stay so far away as possible. (Fortunately, the people who attend adult entertainment events that don’t know how to act are small in number from what I have observed.)
