YNOT Grand Prix

(PRAUGE, CZECH REPUBLIC) — When the fourth leg in the YNOT Grand Prix championship series of webmaster kart races roars into Prague Sept. 20, participants will confront the most daunting challenge to date: A track that stretches nearly 1km long and 6 meters wide, reaching 9 meters in the curves. Altogether, the twisting, turning raceway covers 10,000 square meters.

Even more nerve-wracking: There is no place to hide. Cameras monitor every inch of the track, broadcasting the race live on giant screens while an electronic timing system keeps track of individual karts’ performance.

Presented by 2000Charge.com as one of the special events during the European Summit, the YNOT Grand Prix will host 24 drivers in its final 2011 outing, which will take place from 2-5 p.m. at Kart Centrum. Seats are still available; email LAJ at jay@YNOT.com for details.

YNOT will provide transportation to and from the Hotel Praha, drinks and finger food for all participants – but no crying towels, according to YNOT Group President Connor Young.

“This is shaping up to be a race for cutthroats,” Young said. “Let me just say this: There will be blood.”

The YNOT Grand Prix series offers team and driver championships. Divided into groups, competitors complete a 10-minute practice session and a 10-minute qualifying session at each event. Winners of the qualifying heats face off in a final grudge match to determine the champion.

In the final, grid position are determined by fastest lap times during the qualifying heats, with drivers taking their positions on the starting grid according to their times. Pole position goes to the driver with the fastest qualifying time. The first driver across the finish line wins.

“It’s always a lot of fun to get competitive webmasters together and turn them loose in 45-miles-per-hour bullets with wheels,” said YNOT Group President Connor Young. “The YNOT Grand Prix is a great way to let off some steam and find out what your fellow webmasters are like when the heat is on.”

In addition to 2000Charge, YNOT Grand Prix Prague is sponsored by Pussycash.com, MojoHost.com and RIVcash.com. More information about the kart-racing series is available at YNOTgp.com.
