(LOS ANGELES, CA) — The Condemned: Vengeance is a Bitch, a dramatic Big Event Feature adult movie from Vivid Entertainment with a “social and political conscience,” has been nominated for 11 AVN Awards, the honors that have been called the “Oscars of porn.”
The B. Skow-directed film that stars British beauty Nikki Jayne ensnared in a twisted plot of revenge against sexual predators, has received universally enthusiastic reviews from adult industry critics.
Its powerful set of AVN Awards nominations include Best Feature, Best Director, Best Actress, Best Actor (Ben English), Best Screenplay and Best Editing, among others. Winners of the awards will be announced Jan. 8, 2011, at the Pearl Theatre, inside the Palms Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.
“We all loved David Stanley’s screenplay and understood his passion for the plot so we are thrilled that judges at AVN have honored us with so many nominations and that critics have been so passionate in their reviews of this film,” said director B. Skow.
The film has received abundant praise from reviewers. Paul Fishbein of AVN gave the Condemned the magazine’s highest Five-a rating and said it was an “epic adult movie with a social and political conscience…with incredible sex, career-topping acting performances, production values that rival mainstream Hollywood, and realistic violence that punctuates the textured and compelling storyline, not only is this one of the best adult titles of 2010, but it’s a modern classic that should stand the test of time.”
Both Don Houston and Apache Warrior, reviewers for XCritic.com, lauded the film, with Apache Warrior observing that “people who purchase this movie will be very satisfied in that they will have seen one of the best films of the year.”
Adult DVD Talk said the Condemned is “A fantastic feature that really showcases the directing abilities of B. Skow beyond what is already known about him-that being that he shoots great sex.” Roger Pipe of RogReviews.com noted that it is “A plot driven porn flick with some emotional depth and that’s rare…certainly not a movie you will forget any time soon.”
