For the very first time ever, the Fetish Fair Fleamarket will be coming to Houston, Texas on November 12-14, 2010. There will be three straight days of educational seminars, demos, socials, meetups, and parties, all built around the best assortment of vendors and crafters in the country. Where else can you do comparison shopping on corsets, floggers, collars, restraints, and latex clothing.
This event is open to all who have an interest in BDSM and anyone over 18 years of age with an interest in BDSM, kink, fetish, leather. Straight, gay, or in between, married, single, or polyamorous, male, female, or in transition, young, old, new and experienced are invited to attend.
The Fetish Fair Fleamarket (also known as the ”FFF”), originally began in the Boston area in 1992 and has been held twice yearly in New England since then. The founder and creator of the event, Cecilia Tan, has joined forces with Danny of Leather by Danny and other activists, community builders, vendors, and event producers to bring the FFF-and the benefits the event has afforded the New England leather/fetish/BDSM community-to other parts of the country, including Atlanta, Charlotte, and other areas.
The name ”Fetish Fair Fleamarket” was coined by Cecilia Tan when she ran the first event of its kind in the Boston area in July 1992. That very first Fetish Fair Fleamarket was held at the Charlestown/Somerville Holiday Inn, and several of the first few events were in that same location. The FFF has been held roughly every six months since then, and the original charity benefiting from the event – then called NLA: New England and now called NELA – has since taken over the production and management of the event.
The timetable for the weekend’s events will go as follows:
Friday
12pm: Load-In Begins
6pm – 9pm: Classes and programming
6pm – 9pm: Evening vending hours open to the public
8pm – 1am: Friday night party/fundraiser (details TBD)
Saturday
10:00 am: Saturday Load-in/Set Up Hour
11:00 am: Ballroom opens to sales
12noon: First class session
6:00 pm: Vending Ends
6:30pm: BALLROOM DOORS LOCKED
8pm – 1am: Saturday night party/event
Sunday
10:00 am: BALLROOM DOORS UNLOCKED
11:00 am: Ballroom opens to sales
12noon: First class session
3:00 pm: Vending Ends

The event provides a safe, neutral environment where the kink-curious can learn about the community and leather/fetish/BDSM lifestyles. The event is the most economical, low-cost event of its kind. Other conventions charge hundreds of dollars per person just to walk in the door. We keep our entry price low so everyone can be a part of things and attend our educational programs. The event creates an opportunity for many segments of the community to come together for a common goal, whether singles or couples, men or women, gay or straight, old guard or new style-everyone needs to shop! The event spurs the economic growth of our community and supports the growth of our community businesses. The event is an unparalleled opportunity to educate both the public and to share ideas within alternative lifestyle communities, meet new people, and network.
Interested vendors or commercial sponsorship, FFF will choose on the following criteria: Timeliness of registration (first come, first consideration), uniqueness & quality of products, competition within the product type (i.e. Not too many flogger vendors, not too many shoe vendors, etc…), and regional/national representation. They will try to have at least 50% of the spaces allotted to folks from the Southwest, with an emphasis on Texas and the Houston area in particular.

Exhibit/sponsorship price does not include a LA carte services paid to the hotel directly including Internet hookups, engineering, room service, parking, etc… Some additional a LA carte items such as table rental, electricity, are priced on the registration form.
