(LOS ANGELES, CA) — In the wake of the recently revealed 2010 AVN Nominations, Wicked Pictures is pleased to announce that the company and the product it distributes have received over one hundred mentions from the respected trade organization. Nearly eighty of the nominations speak to the variety and quality of their in-house productions, while the rest recognize the excellence of outside lines like Video Marc Dorcel, Abby Winters, and Playgirl.
All of the famed Wicked Girls (Stormy Daniels, jessica drake, Kaylani Lei, Kirsten Price, Alektra Blue, and Mikayla Mendez) and over twenty of the company’s in-house productions received major nominations, with 2040, director Brad Armstrong’s chilling look at the future of erotica leading the way with eighteen.
Stormy Daniels’ uproarious comedy adventure Operation Tropical Stormy followed with nine nominations, while another Stormy vehicle, Jonathan Morgan’s darkly sexual Tormented, earned seven.
An ambitious cyberpunk thriller, Armstrong’s 2040 emerged as a genuine hit with the critics, earning recognition in such categories as Best Video Feature, Best Director – Feature, Best Videography, Best Special Effects, Best Packaging Innovation, Best Supporting Actress (Kirsten Price), Best Supporting Actor (Randy Spears), and Best Group Sex Scene (jessica drake, Kirsten Price, Alektra Blue, Mikayla Mendez, Kaylani Lei, Tory Lane, Jayden Jaymes, Kayla Carrera, Randy Spears, Brad Armstrong, Rocco Reed, Marcus London, Mick Blue, TJ Cummings).
The director’s uber-stylish House of Wicked, widely acclaimed as the company’s first production to unite all six of the Wicked Girls in one movie, scored heavily as well, earning nominations for Best Director Non Feature, Best Packaging Innovation, and Best High End All-Sex release, while his celebrated couples feature Educating Alli earned such important noms as Best Actress (Alektra Blue), Best Actor (Randy Spears), Best Video Feature and Best Screenplay. And not surprisingly, Armstrong was honored with a mention in the Director of the Year (Body of Work) category.
Wicked contract actress, director, and mainstream crossover personality Stormy Daniels’ many nominations spoke to the depth of her talent as a writer and director as well as performer, as she earned Best Comedy noms for three releases – Operation Tropical Stormy, Whack Job, and One Wild and Crazy Night. The acclaimed Operation Tropical Stormy’s other triumphs included nominations for Best Director – Feature and Best Packaging, while Whack Job also earned a Best Actress nom for Roxy Deville.
Another Stormy project, Wicked contract director Jonathan Morgan’s Tormented, came on strong in many categories, earning the filmmaker a well-deserved Best Director Non Feature nomination in addition to Best Vignette release, Best Videography, and Best Three-Way Sex Scene (Priya Rai, Marco Banderas, and John West).
Veteran adult visionary Michael Raven once again made his mark with an eclectic group of nominations that spoke to his impeccable craftsmanship. His hit couples’ release Hush earned attention in five major categories – Best Video Feature, Best Director – Feature, Best Actress (jessica drake), Best Actor (Eric Masterson), and Best Supporting Actor (Brad Armstrong). In addition to her Best Actress nomination, the luminous drake was also honored with an induction into the AVN Hall of Fame. Another director with a long history at Wicked, Mark Stone, received several nominations, including both Best All Girl release and Best All Girl Sex Scene for Supermodel Slumber Party.
And having received nearly eighty nominations for excellence in the many areas of direction, performance, eroticism and design, Wicked’s accolades for the past year concluded with some well-deserved attention in the Best Overall Marketing Campaign – Company Image category.
