2010 AEE Featured Seminars

(LOS ANGELES, CA) — In addition to the grueling work of meeting the hottest stars in adult entertainment and reviewing the latest adult entertainment products, trade attendees at the 2010 AVN Adult Entertainment Expo (AEE) will have the opportunity to attend seminars covering a wide breadth of adult industry issues and featuring some of the leading experts in adult entertainment, event organizers announced today.

Participants will have the opportunity to learn the latest techniques and strategies to build and keep a successful adult retail business, discuss the role of ‘women in the industry’ from some of the most influential female figures in the business, and explore new legal developments with popular and respected veteran attorneys. AEE is produced by Home Entertainment Events and the trade seminars are sponsored by Hottrix, the award-winning creators of best-selling apps such as iBeer (Best of iTunes 2008, 2009) and iMunchies. The Expo will take place at Sands Expo Center in Las Vegas on Thursday, January 7, thru Sunday, January 10, 2010.

Trade seminars scheduled for the 2010 AEE are:

”Retailing in Challenging Times: You Can Survive & Prosper” Thursday, January 7, 2:00-3:30 PM This face-to-face look at the industry’s most successful distributors and retailers will explore new methods to find and keep customers while outperforming competitors. Panelists include Phyllis Heppenstall of Peekay, Kim Sedergran of IVD, and Erik Schut from TLA.

”Playthings: Trends and Marketing of Adult Toys & Novelties” Thursday, January 7, 4:00-5:30 PM Adult toys and novelties continue to adopt the latest trends and technologies, from programmable vibrators and eco-friendly materials to high-end designer items, and are expanding their consumer base. This session will examine how to evaluate products and their growing consumer base and how to embrace each customer with the right products. Carol Queen with Good Vibrations, U.K.-based LoveHoney, and others will talk with journalist Regina Lynn.

”Power & Influence – the Growing Force of Women in Adult Entertainment” Friday, January 8, 2:00-3:30 PM Engage in a study of the influential women in the industry who, working behind the camera, the counter, and the executive desk, continue to expand their reach and power in adult entertainment. This all-female panel will discuss what drives and influences the female market and how to broaden this desirable customer segment. The panel will be moderated by Dr. Lynn Comella of the University of Nevada Las Vegas and will include producer Tristan Taoromino, Pink Visual executive Kim Kysar, retailers Rachel Venning (Babeland) and Jackie Strano (Good Vibrations), and others.

”Arthur Schwartz Legal Seminar: Recent Developments in Adult Law” Friday, January 8, 4:00-5:30 PM Explore the latest developments and trends in obscenity, zoning, labor law, and record-keeping requirements that impact everyone in the adult entertainment industry. This session is designed as not only a legal update, but incorporates an interactive format where attendees can ask questions about important industry issues affecting their businesses. Panelists will include leading adult law attorneys Paul J. Cambria, Jr., Clyde DeWitt, Jeffrey J. Douglas, H. Louis Sirkin, and Lawrence G. Walters.

”Tech-Driven Business Models you Need to Know About” Saturday, January 9, 11:00 am-12:30 PM the technology-driven digital revolution continues to change the traditional retail landscape. This session will survey the different digital platforms that can lead to new business models and opportunities to reengage the consumer and produce revenue through non-traditional channels. The panel will be moderated by AVN Online senior editor Tom Hymes.

”Online Marketing: Your Key to Success in the New Economy” Saturday, January 9, 1:00-2:30 PM This session will unearth the secrets to online success through an extensive look at traffic generation, media buying, and relationships with the search engines – all integral and important components to every adult business. The panel will be moderated by Jay Kopita of YNOT and includes Quentin Boyer of Topbucks/Pink Visual, Kevin Godbee of 3.0 Consulting, and Kelly Shibari of Hourglass8 Media.

”Creating the Best Sales Team: Sex Education/Staff Training Workshop” Saturday, January 9, 3:00-4:30 PM Dr. Charlie Glickman, Good Vibrations’ Education Program Manager, conducts an interactive workshop on how to train your staff to provide the best service to your clientele by making them knowledgeable, comfortable, and sensitive to the needs of your customers.
