TJ Cummings

Freaky by the Bay by Tiki Pavelle; TJ Cummings, Man of Few Words.

One thing is for certain in a conversation with TJ Cummings, you’ll be able to get a word in edgewise. At turns cryptic, flirtatious and direct, TJ answers questions in an honest and succinct manner and rarely if ever volunteers information. This seems to only add to his allure as one of the adult Industry’s go-to talents in both mainstream and BDSM oriented work.

Cummings got his start in the field early. As a freshman in college, he attended a Hustler party with then-girlfriend Sky Lopez and was offered a role by Nick Manning (which he declined.) Shortly thereafter, TJ changed his mind and did his first scene with Lopez. Cummings says he had no qualms about being in front of the camera from the outset, and can imagine no other career path than the one he is on.

TJ rounds out his life with another pursuit, personal training and bodybuilding. He continues to work as a trainer to ”create balance” and has competed in one natural bodybuilding competition, although he’s considering competing again in the future.

One of few models to have worked at both Oakland California’s Twisted Factory as well as Kink.com across the bay in San Francisco, TJ rates the experiences as very similar. When asked if there are any particular difficulties to working in BDSM versus mainstream adult, he indicates that models experienced in fetish shouldn’t have any problems and ”newbies” tend to have the usual problems inherent to the field. Cummings says that the Bay Area companies do ask for more, but are always happy to provide any necessary training.

In terms of the future of the Industry, TJ sees the trend toward internet based content as increasingly evident. If he could change anything, it would be to make things safer for the talent. ”You’re going to get sick – you just hope the disease you get is curable.”

Not a big media consumer, Cummings’ consumer preferences tend largely toward fitness magazines. His worst hotel room experience was at Caesar’s Palace, involving a ”trashed hotel room.” Inasfar as exotic dining preferences, TJ is not an adventurer. He has never eaten peanut butter, citing the advice of a nutritionist. Cummings was twenty one or twenty two when he had his first strawberry, because ”a girl fed it to me,” and first tried coffee in the last two years.

Curious creature, TJ Cummings, as are we all in our own ways. Nonetheless, his work and the legions of co-stars who clamor to work with him again speaks for itself.
