(ENCINO, CA) — Trade attendees at the 2009 AVN Adult Entertainment Expo will have the opportunity to gain new knowledge to enhance their businesses at the Expo’s seminars. At the seminars, participants will discover new techniques and strategies to build a successful adult retail business, be able to pick the brains of the next generation of legal superstars, and engage in revealing conversations with adult stars at the show. The Expo will take place at Sands Expo Center in Las Vegas on Thursday, January 8, thru Sunday, January 11, 2009.

Thursday January 8, 11:30 am-1:00 PM ”Retailing Today: Staying Competitive in a Changing Environment” This session explores ways to stay competitive in an environment that is rapidly changing. Panelists from Hustler, Thriller, Fairvilla, and Babeland Stores will discuss the importance of a web presence for all retailers, how to evaluate and expand store product mix, and how to keep and attract new customers.
Thursday January 8, 1:30-3:00 PM ”‘Can I Help you?’ – Sex Education in the Retail Setting” Dr. Charlie Glickman, Good Vibrations’ Education Program Manager, explains how sex education and retail sales can support each other. Throughout the session Dr. Glickman will offer tips on how to help retail staff improve their skills in this essential component of customer service.
Thursday January 8, 3:30-5:00 PM ”Play Dates Aren’t Only for Kids: Adult Toys, Novelties, Home Parties” This seminar focuses on expanding the product line by adding toys and novelties to any retail business. Learn how to reach beyond the retail store or website through home parties in this compelling session.
Friday January 9, 1:30-3:00 PM ”Arthur Schwartz Legal Seminar: ‘Young Guns’ Discuss Recent Developments in Adult Law” Join several of the top up and coming legal brains in the adult industry as they discuss recent developments and important new trends in obscenity, zoning, labor law, and record keeping requirements that impact the adult industry.
Friday January 9, 3:30-5:00 PM ”Let Me Tell you about the Time … Outrageous Stories from the Inside” Over the years, some outrageous, funny, entertaining and downright scary things have happened on adult movie sets. Sit in on some of these accounts directly from the performers, directors, and production crew members in what is sure to be a fascinating and fun session.
