(HOLLYWOOD, CA) — The second annual Love LA Show, with its innovative approach to promoting sexual education, relationship-building, and sensual products, is set for Jan. 25, 2009, at the historic Music Box/Henry Fonda Theater.

This year, Love LA will expand, moving to a larger venue, adding 10 new vendors for a total of 45 handpicked manufacturers and designers of high-quality sensual products, a food section, full bar, and enhanced slate of educational seminars, fashion shows, and entertainment.

Once again Love LA will be an adult event free of pornography, harsh lighting, and a male-dominated crowd – still never duplicated at an adult event. There will even be a Ferris wheel to raise money for charity, with 5 percent of overall proceeds going to benefit Children of the Night, an organization dedicated to rehabilitating young women living on the streets and in many cases turning to prostitution.

”Love LA continues to evolve into a destination in which women and couples, especially, can enhance virtually every facet of their sensual lives,” said event creator Ian Denchasy of couples-oriented adult retailer Freddy and Eddy. Denchasy’s idea to create a couples-oriented adult event gave birth to Love LA in 2008.

”The booth costs continue to be low, [and] the admission price is kept to a minimum,” Denchasy said. ”We want visitors to explore their options with adult products, services, education and lingerie in a sexy, pressure-free atmosphere.”

Denchasy and his team have opened the 2009 show to include upscale cuisine, an expanded educational seminar lineup and a full-service bar, among other soon-to- be-announced additions, to make attending the show a complete sensory experience.

”We are thrilled to convey a sex positive message to the community by promoting sexual health, education and entertainment,” fellow Love LA organizer David Ballow said, who also acts as national director of operations for leading adult retailer the Pleasure Chest.

Love LA 2009’s full spectrum of seminars will be hosted by well-known sex experts and luminaries, including Midori, Nina Hartley, Jamye Waxman, Regina Lynn and Patti Britton. ”Last year Love LA broke ground with an amazing and well received show,” Love LA Education Director Kristen Tribby said. ”This year is going to be bigger and better while still providing an intimate experience.”

Tribby works full time as the Pleasure Chest’s director of marketing and education, and says she’s excited to be a part of another innovative Love LA event.

”Love LA is carving a new path in the sex industry and the Pleasure Chest is excited to be a part of this movement,” Tribby said.

Product manufacturing leaders, including Tantus Inc., OhMiBod, Fun Factory, Pjur, Sportsheets and Shunga, will be available throughout the day to answer detailed questions regarding their products.

Love LA organizers expect between 4,000 and 5,000 attendees during the one-day show, and a carefully selected staff will be on hand all day to demystify sexual taboos and celebrate this favorite activity with the provocative and shy alike.

”Last year, we proved two main points,” Denchasy wrote about Love LA in a recent L.A. Weekly column. ”First, with attendance leaning over 60 percent female, the myth that ladies don’t care about sex was effectively shattered. Second, we were able to draw significant crowds – in a torrential downpour, I might add – despite the absence of pornography.”

A lineup up fashion/lingerie shows and sexy performances, including a special act by the Sassy Minxx dance group, will be scheduled throughout the day on two different staging areas.

Love LA 2009 is scheduled to coincide with Valentine’s Day and the second release of L.A. Weekly’s Sexy Little Black Book, a guide to all things sexy throughout Southern California.
