(TARZANA, CA) — Friday evening, August 29Th, adult film stars Veronica Rayne and her husband Jack Vegas celebrated the grand opening of the Oxygen Lounge.
The Oxygen Lounge is a restaurant and cocktail lounge that is open to the general public, but is adult industry friendly.
The Oxygen Lounge reminded me a bit of an 80’s disco club. It is laid back, and has an almost homey atmosphere. I also think that it is a bit unique to walk into a place and the first thing you see is a beautiful adult film star tending the bar. That would be Veronica herself, at least on this night.
I think that Veronica and Jack have a great idea, and I hope the lounge is a huge, roaring, success.
Since I live in the San Gabriel Valley, it is a bit of a trip to go to the lounge just to hang out. However, I do have a potential plan in mind. I’m thinking that now and then, when I am going to be heading for the Van Nuys Spearmint Rhino, the Oxnard Rhino or the Santa Barbara Rhino to check out a feature dancer, I could get an early start, drop in at the lounge, say hello and possibly have a bite to eat.
Some of the people who attended the grand opening were Jack Vegas and Veronica Rayne, of course, and also retired adult film star Phyllisha Anne, who now owns and operates an adult clothing shop named, ”Hotbox.”
Other adult film stars who were in attendance were: Rhiannon Alize, the Peruvian Princess Alexis Amore, Arianna Armani, Jay Ashley, Tony Batman of A! Entertainment, and Vanessa Blue.
Also there with Vanessa Blue were a mainstream producer named Terri and adult entertainment industry attorney Michael W. Fattorosi.
Additionally in attendance were: Gary Gottlieb, owner and publisher of Stiletto Magazine, Tommy Gunn (I almost didn’t recognize Tommy. He has shaved off his trademark moustache and goatee.), Brooke Haven (Brooke will be feature dancing at the downtown Los Angeles Spearmint Rhino the weekend of Thursday through Saturday, September 18Th through the 20Th.), Jenny Hendrix, Jenaveve Jolie, Ruby Knox, Devon Lee, Layleah Lynne, Priscilla Milan, Bree Olsen (Yes, I have finally gotten to meet Bree!), Allison Pierce, Shayne Ryder, Kaci Starr, Cee Cee Stone, Chase Taylor, Summer Storm and Venus.
Also there were adult industry photographers Gordon Mui and Tera Nicole.(There were a few other photographers there whose names I’ve never managed to learn.)
Last but certainly not least, on this particular night, I had the extreme pleasure of meeting adult film industry makeup artist Lisa Sloane and her husband David. Together, Lisa and David have a rock band named Feral Vinca. I hope to be able to hear their band perform soon.

I’m certain there were other adult industry people in attendance whom I don’t know. Unfortunately, even though I was running around like a chicken with its head cut off, I just wasn’t able to get to everybody to learn their identities. (I did manage to ask three different young women who they were just to find out that they were non-industry people who were there with industry associated people.)
I want to thank Veronica and Jack once again for making it possible for me to attend their grand opening that Friday night. I enjoyed their lounge, and the experience gave me a chance to say hello of some long time friends, meet a bunch of newcomers to the industry, and it gave me something a little different to write about in this column.
Hey, if I lived in the area, I would practically live in the lounge. I do very much want to see Veronica and Jack’s venture succeed, and I hope that the adult industry will give them all the support they possibly can in their efforts to be successful in their new business venture.
The following is what Veronica and Jack have planned for a weekly line-up. Monday will be NFL night with a giant projector, two flat screens, $2.00 Bud drafts, $6.00 Bud Pitchers and ten wings for $6.99!
Tuesday nights will be, ”Tattoo Tuesdays,” featuring a tattoo contest with a chest full of, ”Treasures,” for the winner!
Wednesday nights are to be, ”Hump Day Wednesday!” Veronica and Jack say, ”Come get it on with us!” (Now that has even myself curious!)
Thursday nights are to be, ”Rock Out Coyote Style,” with body shots and $2.00 Bud Light bottles. Veronica and Jack say that there will be a, ”Featured Porn Star,” every Thursday night. They say, ”Come meet your favorite one!”
Friday Nights will be free for college boys and girls! Just show your college ID and pay no cover! Fridays are also going to be adult industry night. Bring a DVD and get a free drink!
Saturday nights are to be, ”Slippery when Wet Saturdays! Veronica and Jack say, ”Come take your favorite drink or shot off your favorite Ice Louge.” I haven’t a clue what that means, but it sounds really good!
On Sundays, there will be football. People will be able to watch their favorite teams play on the giant projector television!

The hours of operation are: Sunday and Monday 10 Am to 10 PM Tuesday and Wednesday 3 PM to midnight Thursday and Friday 3 PM to 2 Am Saturday 9 PM to 2 Am
There is a cover charge Thursday through Saturday, but it is only five dollars per person. Hey, even I can afford that every now and then.
I hope that everybody out in the San Fernando Valley, and elsewhere for that matter, will stop by the Oxygen Lounge and have a few drinks and possibly a bite to eat. Let’s all help make Veronica and Jack’s lounge a huge success, especially those of us who are in the industry!
