(SAN FRANCISCO, CA) — San Francisco’s Kink.com launched a new phase of its KinkOnDemand.com service this week, featuring the site’s first third- party video from legendary fetish photographer, director and entrepreneur Peter W. Czernich, founder and principal creative force behind German fetish brand Marquis.
Pure White Room, a three-part video directed by Czernich and originally released on DVD in Europe, features a medical fetish theme with bondage, complex latex fashion, and the focus on esthetics that has made Marquis the most famous name in European fetish. The DVD, like most of Czernich’s titles, has previously been unavailable in the Us except to devoted collectors, who had to order it from Europe at great expense. Pure White Room is the first of more than 30 Marquis videos scheduled for release weekly on KinkOnDemand.com through late 2008 and early 2009.
”We’ve been fans of Marquis for years,” said Peter Acworth, Kink.com’s founder and CEO. ”When you think of slick high-end fetish with great production values, Marquis and Peter Czernich are among the first names that come to mind.”
Said Czernich: ”Marquis and Kink.com have deep synergies in the fetish world and we are looking forward to working closely together. We consider Kink.com one of the leaders in the fetish industry with high quality, dedication and a phenomenal concept. We’re proud to enhance its portfolio with our high-end fetish movies.”
When we built KinkOnDemand.com, we wanted to offer the very best fetish material in the world,” said John Sander, Kink.com’s Vice President of Marketing and Business Development. ”Marquis has helped define the face of fetish fashion and eroticism for 20 years. Many of our customers are very vocal about their love of latex and other fetishwear and fetish scenarios, and Marquis does that better than anyone — it’s exactly what those customers have been asking for. These are premium European videos that have been difficult for fans in North America to get.”
Czernich has been active in the fetish scene for 20 years, beginning in the late 1980s when he published the German edition of fetish magazine Skin Two and thereafter founded , the single most influential periodical of the burgeoning late-’80s and early-’90s German fetish scene. ceased publication in 1994, after which Czernich founded fetish magazine Marquis.
The Marquis brand has since grown to encompass video production, book publishing, hugely popular fetish events and a fetish showroom in Solingen, Germany. A spinoff magazine, Heavy Rubber, was launched in 1997 and continues today in concert with Marquis.
After 10 years as a publisher and entrepreneur, Czernich began taking photographs, since gaining international acclaim for his highly stylized photographs of practically every famous fetish model in the world. Says Czernich: ”Eventually, there were so many images in my head that I was not happy anymore to leave it to the commissioned photographers.” He has since shot several hundred models and hundreds of thousands of published photos.
KinkOnDemand.com, launched this summer, is the on-demand network of San Francisco BDSM, fetish and alternative sexuality studio Kink.com.
