(DALLAS, TX) — A three-day grand opening party July 17, 18 and 19 will introduce Club Onyx, a deluxe adult nightclub in Dallas catering to African American gentlemen. The former Platinum Club II was recently purchased by Rick’s Cabaret International, Inc. (NASDAQ: Rick), the nation’s premier operator of upscale gentlemen’s clubs.
The Dallas Club Onyx is just off the I-35 Stemmons Freeway at the intersection of 10557 Wire Way and Northwest Highway. It is also just two freeway exits away from the company’s newest Rick’s Cabaret, at 8550 North Stemmons Freeway. Club Onyx will be open Sunday through Wednesday 11 am to 2 am, and Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 11 am to 5 am, featuring a non-stop cabaret show and fine dining.
”There’s a lot of buzz among pro athletes and hip hop and R&B artists who have already been to our Houston and Charlotte locations and they are pumped about having a Club Onyx in Dallas. We expect the club will be packed all three nights of the grand opening,” said Ed Anakar, regional manager for Rick’s Cabaret. He said the club is bringing in dancers from throughout the country for the launch and that about 100 entertainers will be on hand each night.
Rick’s Cabaret launched the Club Onyx concept in 2003 when the company’s management decided to take its highly successful upscale gentlemen’s club format into one of the fastest growing, but underserved, demographic segments – highly successful and increasingly affluent urban males. The first Club Onyx opened in the Galleria section of Houston and since then it has been hosting capacity crowds of urban businessmen, lawyers, doctors and professional athletes.
