Legendary adult director losing battle with cancer.
(PORN VALLEY, CA) — Anybody remember Babylon Pink? Devil in Miss Jones 2? Hothouse Rose? Blame it On Ginger? Taboo American Style? Outlaw Ladies?
What those classics all have in common is their director: Henri Pachard. In the course of a career that’s spanned nearly 30 years, Pachard has directed more than 400 movies for some of the biggest and most highly respected companies in the history of the industry: Vivid, VCA, Command, Caballero, Metro, Sin City, Video-X-Pix, Essex – you name it, Pachard’s probably got a credit there.
So it was with the greatest dismay that we’ve learned that Pachard is losing his battle with cancer, the disease that’s kept him all but sidelined for the past three years, and unable to support himself and his wife, Deloras.
”We have about 23 years of friendship,” writer/photographer Raven Touchstone said in an email today. ”There was a brief romance in there somewhere but it wasn’t a patch on the depth of the friendship over the years and the many terrific movies we made together. I was supposed to go visit again today but he’s not feeling well right now… lots of nausea from the morphine. He has fought like a gladiator the past 2-1/2 years, but this cancer has chopped at him bit by bit till there’s no strength left in him. It’s really tragic to see this one time ego-driven, gifted, intelligent man felled by some runaway cells.”
With Pachard unable to work, the support of the family has fallen to Deloras, who’s often served as Pachard’s cameraperson over the past decade, shooting both sex scenes and behind-the-scenes footage – she has her own camera – and even editing Pachard’s movies.
Deloras is Pachard’s sole means of support, but with Pachard house-bound, the family has no income, and with the mounting medical bills, that’s a problem.
Touchstone has put out a call to the industry to give Deloras Pachard some camera and/or editing work to help her and her legendary husband survive.
Deloras can be contacted at deloraspachardpost@gmail.com, and for those with offers of work, contact this author at (818) 718-5788 ext. 150 for her phone number.
