Gentlemen’s Club Owners Expo 2008: ”The Year of the GM” with a ”Rock ‘n’ Roll Awards Show” at Vegas’ Hard Rock Casino.
They’re the ones there when the owner can’t be. They run every aspect of an adult nightclub. They handle the hiring and firings. They control the club’s inventory. They’re responsible for making sure that club promotions are a success. They may be required to work one-on-one with local authorities. They handle any problem–no matter how big or small–that arises in a club on any given day or night.
”They” are the adult nightclub general manager, and the success of a club may hinge on their performance. For the first time ever, the Annual Gentlemen’s Club Owners Expo — scheduled for August 24-27, 2008, at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas — is dedicated to them: Expo 2008 is ”The Year of the GM.”
”At all of our clubs, the most integral person at each location is the General manager,” says Joe Hall, Director of Operations for the Deja Vu club chain. ”He or she sets the tone of the club, the attitude of the staff and the quality of entertainment had by our patrons.”
At Expo 2008, several panel sessions, workshops and seminars will revolve around the adult club GM, and the most important aspects of their daily work experience. Such workshops as ”GM on the hot seat,” ”How to turn all of your customers into VIPs” and ”GM, club owner, DJ–who’s the real Big Dog,” will provide GMs and club owners with information and insight that is not available anywhere else in any form. As an additional incentive, half-price convention registrations ($145) are being offered exclusively to industry GMs.
In addition to the sessions and seminars, the Expo also features a 400-plus- booth, two-day Tradeshow featuring companies that provide products and services to adult nightclubs and other adult retail venues. And because GMs are often the ones advising owners on which companies would best suit their club’s needs, this is a perfect opportunity for GMs to see all of the newest products and services available to their venue, all in the same place.
But all Expo attendees — whether they’re a hard working adult nightclub GM, club owner, feature entertainer or business executive — deserve the opportunity to relax, unwind, and enjoy the company of fellow industry professionals. To this end, the Expo’s evening events provide a great atmosphere for enjoying the Las Vegas nightlife. The Opening Night Party will be held at Mandalay Bay’s popular Rumjungle nightclub, while Las Vegas’ lavish Penthouse Club will host the new Leather & Lace Contest Party.
Finally, Ed’s 11th Annual Adult Nightclub & Exotic Dancer Awards Show–honoring the best of the best from the world of adult nightclubs and feature entertainment–will be held at Vegas’ popular Hard Rock Hotel & Casino inside their Showroom, ”The Joint.” the show will boast a ”rock ‘n’ roll” theme, a celebrity host, special presenters and top feature entertainer performances, and — for the first time ever — will include an award for the General Manager of the Year.
As was the case in 2007, this year’s Expo will be held in conjunction with the 2nd Annual Storerotica Show, the national convention and tradeshow for every segment of the adult retail industry (presented by Teeze and ASB Magazines).
