(HOLLYWOOD, CA) — In February 2002, Criss Angel astounded people in Times Square when he set a world record for body suspension as he hung for five hours and 40 minutes from eight steel hooks pierced through his skin while passerby’s stared in wonder and amazement. On January 11th at the AEE Matt Zane will attempt to break Criss Angels record for longest body suspension but also plans to add his own unique twist to the performance. Zane will only be using 4 hooks instead of 8. With only half as many hooks that Criss used this will mean that each hook will have to hold twice as much weight.
“I usually only like creating and attempting new suspensions so when I decided to top his record I had to do something that made it twice as intense.” says Zane.
Zane’s first goal is to reach the 3 hour mark which will be over half the time of Criss Angel’s record. Considering Zane will be using only 4 hooks instead of 8 this within itself will be an unbelievable accomplishment. After the 3 hour mark is reached, Zane will attempt to hang for an additional 3 hours which will make the time suspended 6 hours total, 20 minutes longer than the record. This will not only set a new world record but Zane will have done it with 4 hooks less than Criss Angel.
“This is an amazing way to start off the new year. People have really shown a new interest in my suspension performances within the adult community so I thought this would be a great way to bring it up close and personal. Not only do people get to see it with their own eyes they get to take pictures and be a part of history.” says Zane.
The suspension will take place on Jan 11th at 12:00 in the Pleasure Productions booth. Everyone in attendance will be a able to witness the piercings and suspension as well get autographs and pictures taken with Zane while he hangs! Tera Wray and Tom Byron will also be signing at the booth for the entire convention.
