(SAN FRANCISCO, CA) — What do bike messengers and sex workers have in common? Aside from the fact that they are both peddlers, they will join forces to raise money for a worthy cause at the Back Alley Bike Ride on Saturday, September 22, from 12 noon to 5:00 Pm.
The ride is a fundraiser for both the San Francisco Bike Messengers Union and the Erotic Service Providers Union. To participate, meet at 12 noon at the Gandhi Statue at the San Francisco Ferry Terminal; from there, the one to two hour ride, makes some colorful stops tba (maps will be handed out the day of the ride). Don’t have a bike? — Just show up for the party at the Eagle, 398 12th Street at 2:00 Pm — the final destination on the route, where a beer bust, BBQ and party features punk bands: K-9 and the Crags; burly Q hotties: Penney Whistle and Lola La Mae of the Twilight Vixen Revue and, all the way from New Orleans, Faux Queen Emcee: Barbie Lorelei-Gertrude-Bertha-Tabitha-Bacon-Lettuce-Tomato, or LGBTBLT for short.
Fabulous prizes from sponsors Good Vibes, Madame S, and more will be awarded to ride participants in a variety of categories such as best costume, fastest peddler, slowest peddler, etcetera.
The Erotic Service Providers Union seeks to gain agency on behalf of all erotic service providers regarding their occupational, health, safety, social, civil, and economic rights through affiliating with organized labor. An Erotic Service Provider is anyone who is compensated for his or her erotic services or compensated for their support of someone else’s erotic service.
