(NEW YORK, NY) — Joanna Angel, adult film actress and owner of BurningAngel, has signed a directing contract with Club Jenna / Spice Studios. This is a six-picture deal, with Joanna directing three movies for Club Jenna, and three movies for Spice Studios.
Ms. Angel is very excited about signing with the companies, as she will have all of the support and direction to produce the kind of incredible movies she has always desired to do. She is planning to start immediately and get a few productions rolling this summer. Joanna will continue producing features like Joanna’s Angels and Porny Monster.
“I really love making features, and I’ve developed a cult following as a result of my movies,” says Ms. Angel. “I am looking forward to working with these two great studios and creating some amazing ‘Joanna Styled’ productions. This deal grants me the ability to continue making my amateur web content and my own gonzo styled movies distributed through my company, BurningAngel Entertainment, as well as coming up with some new lines I will direct for Club Jenna and Spice.”
BurningAngel Entertainment, Club Jenna and Spice are all distributed through Pulse Distribution. “It is in everyone’s best interests for the sales of all our movies to work together,” says Angel.
“I really admire Jay Grdina, and how he runs Club Jenna. As a director, Jay really understands the creative needs directors have. So many companies these days are owned by people who don’t even watch the movies their company is producing. I’m glad to be working with someone who is just as passionate about his movies as I am about mine – even though our movies are very different.”

Bryan Postlethwait, Playboy Entertainment’s Senior Vice President of Programming, approached Joanna to work for the companies. Playboy Entertainment is the parent company of Spice / Club Jenna. Joanna says, “At first I was hesitant because their brand is so different from mine. However, I was pleasantly surprised by Bryan’s attitude: He liked my company, and the movies I have made, for all the right reasons. Bryan and I share the same sense of humor and similar tastes in music. We have a lot in common creatively. It was evident that Bryan was not trying to cash in on the “alt” niche. He really likes my movies, and encourages me to do my thing.”
Mr. Postlethwait says, “Joanna understands the importance of collaboration. I’m confident in our ability as a team to create exciting new product.”
