(LOS ANGELES, CA) — The Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP) will be represented at the upcoming Cybernet Expo.
Cybernet Expo is an annual international tradeshow for online adult professionals. The event features seminars and guest speakers, as well as parties, special events and networking opportunities. This year’s Cybernet Expo takes place from June 7-10 in Tampa Bay, Florida.
ASACP’s CTO, Brandon Shalton, will appear on Saturday’s “Politics of Porn” panel, where he will participate in a discussion of how the current political and legal climate affects adult businesses, as well as the internal politics of the industry.
One topic Shalton expects to address is website labeling – in particular, ASACP’s RTA (“Restricted to Adults”) label. “There are several bills before Congress right now that would require mandatory site labeling,” he points out. “We as an industry need to promote practical, voluntary alternatives like RTA. It’s an initiative that’s by the industry, for the industry. So in addition to helping parents protect their kids, it can help adult businesses head off new government regulation.”
Shalton will appear alongside fellow panelists Angelina Spencer (Ace National), Dave Cummings (DaveCummings.com), Darklady (Ynot), 12Clicks (12ClicksCash) and attorney Eric M. Bernstein. The session will be moderated by Monty from AVN.
Founded in 1996, the Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP) is a non-profit organization dedicated to eliminating child pornography from the Internet. ASACP also works to help parents prevent children from viewing age-inappropriate material online. More information is available at www.ASACP.org.
