Myles’ Weekend Adventures: Bonjour mon amis! Comment ca va? Myles Shaffer here. Monday, May 22nd, my friend, Bruce Daigrepont, the bandleader and front man of the Bruce Daigrepont Cajun Band, drove me past the point where the 17Th Street Canal broke and through the Lakeview area and part of the Mid-City area to show me the effects of the flooding.
People, all the photographs and news video tapes in the world cannot show the real devastation! It is terrible. Two thirds of this city is a deserted ghost town. Many homes will have to be demolished. They are far beyond repair. A person can tell just from looking which homes were directly in front of the break in the levee. Brick homes have large holes where windows and doors once were, and the building were instantly and completely gutted by the wall of water. Wood frame homes were torn off their foundations and moved up against trees, other buildings, any thing strong enough to stop them. Many of the wood frame buildings are now nothing but so much scrap lumber!
At one point, Bruce and I stopped and walked through the former home of a friend of his. What I saw inside that poor lady’s house is indescribable!
Tuesday, May 23rd, I drove out east in hopes of seeing what the condition of Al and Michele Babineaux’s house might be. I never got there, because a bridge is still out.
On the way out there, I saw metal buildings that were torn apart by the storm surge. I saw three or four twelve to fourteen foot pleasure boats, and two shrimp boats sitting on the side of the road away from the water. I also saw a very large metal barge sitting in a field several yards on the other side of the road from the water.
The Venetian Ilse, the housing tract a few miles before the one Al and Michele lived in looks like a war zone. The worst was a former brick home that I can’t even refer to as being gutted. It is nothing more than ruins, just pieces of brick walls standing here and there.
I spoke with a gentleman who was a member of a crew working to rebuild one of the houses. He told me that I might just as well not bother to attempt to find Al and Michele’s house. He said that everything on the other side of the bridge was completely gone, that I would not find anything more than slabs and foundations.
On the drive through New Orleans East, I saw that it is now about ninety some percent uninhabited. I saw entire shopping centers sitting empty and boarded up.
By the way, about all the news media ever showed was the devastation in the lower ninth ward, and many black people being rescued. That is not the whole picture. The Lakeview area was predominately white, and the Mid-City area was about a 50/50 mix of black and white people. Another thing the news media did not say too much about is the fact that there were a lot of white people who lost their lives also.
After I had given up on my search for Al and Michele’s house and returned to the city, while driving along I-610, I saw a fourteen foot boat still sitting on the right side of the freeway. Thanks to Katrina, a person driving around in New Orleans will see cars and boats still sitting in some of the oddest places!
Okay, enough of that. Let us begin the discussion of beautiful women.
Erika Eve
After I gave up on my search for my friends’ home, I drove to Breaux Bridge and dined on fried alligator, French fries, jambalaya, cole slaw, and garlic bread at the original Mulatte’s Restaurant.
With my tummy now properly stuffed, I drove up into the Carencro area to drop in and visit with my friends, Russell and Sheryl Cormier for an hour, then doubled back to Desperado’s to see and meet Erika Eve.
I could have met Erika Eve at the New Orleans Gold Club, now a Penthouse Club, a few years ago, but because I had never heard of her at that time, and because I needed to do some laundry, and get some sleep, before starting a very long drive the next day, I decided to forgo the pleasure of seeing and meeting her. A couple of weeks after I got home at the end of that trip, I discovered some pictures of Erika Eve on the Internet, and I have been kicking myself in the butt ever since. When I discovered I was to have a second chance, there was no way in Hell I was going to allow this opportunity to escape me, and am I glad I didn’t!
Erika Eve is a wonderful lady! She is beautiful, has a great looking body, is well spoken, has a good sense of humor and is very personable in general. I thoroughly enjoyed the time I was able to spend with this terrific lady. (Thanks to one of the club’s managers, I was even able to spend some time in Erika Eve’s dressing room with her and her roadie, Monty. [I hope I spelled his name correctly])
I was only able to stay for one show, but was it ever a good one. Erika Eve came onto the stage wearing a beautiful, “Indian Maiden,” costume complete with a gorgeous floor length headdress, or war bonnet, whichever term one might prefer. In keeping with the costume, Erika Eve began this show dancing to Tim McGraw’s, “Cherokee Outlaw.”
Erika Eve performs very well on stage, and she is quite limber and somewhat athletic. She displayed a good amount of energy during this show, and seemed to truly enjoy performing for the customers.
Erika Eve also worked with fire toward the end of this show. I have seen a number of features work with fire, but this was the first time I’ve ever seen a feature set her breasts on fire, then blow them out.
Erika Eve’s interaction with the tip rail patrons is excellent. She went so far as to lay on the edge of the stage, set the crotch of her G-string on fire, and allow a customer to use her crotch to light his cigarette before she blew the flames out. At one point, she lit the palm of my right hand afire. She got somewhat tickled, when I found the fire to be a bit hotter than I expected it to be and instinctively yanked my flaming hand away.
I highly recommend that none of my readers ever allow an opportunity to see Erika Eve perform and to meet her in person slip past them. Now I want all of my readers to begin bugging the owners and managers of their local clubs to book Erika Eve for a feature gig at said clubs.

While there at Desperado’s I spoke with a lady to see if there was any reason why she seemed to look so familiar to me. It turned out that I had seen Heike there the other two times I’ve been there since December 1998, and we spoke with each other the last time I was there a few years ago.
Also, there was a young black man who walked past me several times and looked at me each time he passed. Finally, he came to me, sat down at my table and spoke with me. As it turns out, while he is a manager now, E. J. was the disc jockey the last time I was there, and he and I spoke with each other that night a few years ago. (I can almost remember when my memory was so good as E. J.’s!)
Once Heike and E. J. had figured out who happened to be, I was given nothing but the utmost in VIP treatment. One of them even went to Erika Eve and told her about me being there, which caused Erika Eve to come to my table to sit down and chat with me for a few minutes before her show.
Desperado’s is a nice looking club and is very comfortably furnished. The house dancers are a good looking mixture of black and white ladies, and one very sexy Hispanic lady.
I was especially impressed with a dancer called Dreamer, who sat and chatted with me even after I had warned her that I wasn’t going to be buying any dances that night.
Dreamer is a very friendly, and quite lovely looking woman. And, she told me that she is one half of a sister act, so to speak. While I never had the good fortune of meeting her, Dreamer told me that the dancer called Angel was her sister. That is only the second time I’ve ever run into two sisters who were house dancers in a strip club.
Even the waitresses at Desperado’s are hotties, and, in my personal opinion, the most beautiful, sexiest, nicest, friendliest waitress of them all is my brand new buddy, Alexandra! There is no other way to describe Alexandra than to say she is hotter than a two dollar pistol.
If any of my readers ever find themselves in the Carencro, Louisiana, area, I want them to stop in at Desperado’s, say hello to Heike and E. J., find Dreamer, buy a few dances with her, and be especially certain to find Alexandra, buy a few drinks from her and tip her very well.
Generally, Desperado’s books a feature once a month. The club does not have a website at this time, but if a person were to go to CajunDrinks.com they will find information about Desperado’s on that site.
Zoe Britton
Wednesday evening, May 24Th, I first went to Harrah’s Casino to make a pig of myself at the buffet, and to listen to my friends, Bruce Daigrepont, Gina Forsyth, Jim Markway, and a substitute drummer, to whom I owe an apology for having already forgotten his name, aka the Bruce Daigrepont Cajun Band, play their Cajun Music, plus a small Bluegrass band that was sharing the gig. After I was thoroughly stuffed to the grills, I said goodbye to my friends, and hit the road.
Since I failed to get back to Baton Rouge in time Tuesday night, I returned to the Baton Rouge Gold Club on this night to see Zoe Britton perform, and to see whether or not she would remember meeting me before. She knew my face, but I had to remind her that we first met at the reception before the Exotic Dancer Awards Show 2004 in Las Vegas. After discussing the situation, Zoe and I both feel that we did run into each other for a second time during the Exotic Dancer Fan Fair 2005 weekend.
Zoe is a beautiful young woman with 100% all natural 34D breasts, which look really good on her, since she is a rather small lady. In fact, Zoe has a fantastic looking body overall.
Also, I found Zoe to be very sweet, friendly, smart, well spoken, and a lot of fun to hang out and chat with. I am already very much in like with her!
Zoe performs so well on stage as the vast majority of the features I’ve seen over the years, and much better than several I’ve seen.
I was only able to stay for one show, but it was well worth the two and a half hour round trip! Zoe’s musical selection was quite appropriate for her show. As for her costume for this one show, it was a very beautiful red, white, and blue, star spangled, cheerleaders uniform complete with red and white pom-poms. The key words here are, “Star Spangled.” not only did the costume have several stars on it, but there was not one minuscule part of that costume that was not covered with sequins! That costume came so close to be made entirely of sequins as any I’ve ever seen. (I must say, that costume looked fantastic after it was no longer on Zoe’s body!)
Zoe Britton comes complete with my highest recommendations, and I do not want to ever heard of any of my readers ever passing up an opportunity to go to a club to see her perform and to meet her in person. I honestly do not believe anybody who does see and meet Zoe will ever be sorry they did.
Pay Zoe a visit at: ZoeBritton.net
When I first arrived at the club, the young lady at the door told me that Zoe was still on the floor and wearing a red dress. I entered the club, and saw a familiar looking young woman sitting at the bar and wearing a somewhat dark shade of pink costume. I made the erroneous assumption she had to be Zoe, and the door lady had an unusual idea of what red looked like. As it turned out, Zoe was sitting behind the lady I first approached. The little hottie I mistook for Zoe was Alexis, whom I met the Thursday night I was there last week.
Unfortunately, I forgot to mention Alexis last week, so I’ll sing her praises now. Alexis is a very pretty, and quite sexy looking lady. She is very nice and easy to speak with; therefore, if any of my readers ever find themselves in the Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Gold Club, look for Alexis, say hello, and buy a few dances with her.
Okay, that’s about it for this week. I need to get back to my time share, take a shower, change clothes, get something to eat, most likely at the Praline Connection, do some laundry, and prepare to hit the road for my hometown in northeastern Oklahoma, where I’ll be until some time Sunday, before starting the long drive home. Until next time, everybody stay safe, and have a wonderful week or two.
Bonsoir et au revoir,
Myles Shaffer
