(VAN NUYS, CA) — Joone’s heavily awarded and highly visible ‘Pirates’ has become the first adult movie to successfully crossover, receiving an R-Rating from the MPAA. Following the R-Rating, Digital Playground acquired mainstream distribution from MTI.
They will release the new R-rated DVD version of ‘Pirates’ on July 11, 2006. Pre-book is scheduled for June 20, 2006, timed to coincide perfectly with the July 7th, theatrical release of ‘Pirates of the Caribbean 2.’
Joone, Digital Playground founder and the director of ‘Pirates,’ is excited. He says, “I’m extremely pleased that the movie will be available for mainstream audiences. Boasting new box art and a new rating, the DVD extras on the R-rated ‘Pirates’ disc include: 16:9 Widescreen Format, 5.1 Digital Surround Sound, Visual F/X Making of, Bloopers, Trailer, and Optional Spanish Subtitles. ‘Pirates’ will be listed in the Action / Adventure section of your local retailer and preferred e-tailer.
