Formed late in 2005 by Adult Video Vixen Dru Berrymore, Seedy Films “Was formed to introduce a higher quality of product and customer service. We believe in treating everyone with respect” says Joey Strange, National Sales Manager.
German born Stunner Dru began her career in Europe, subsequently moving to Los Angeles where she began working in fetish videos and eventually did layouts for magazines such as Penthouse(tm), Hustler(tm), Perfect 10(tm) and Barely Legal(tm).
Making the natural progression from print to film, Dru has performed for studios such as Metro, Wicked, VCA, Vivid, Adam & Eve while working for some of the biggest directors in the business. It was her dedication to her craft that built her reputation as not only a solid video vixen but as a very strong, articulate, intelligent woman with diverse interests and abilities. It was transitioning into a life after performing that led to the formation of Seedy Films.
Focusing on the relatively new market geared at movies made for couples, “Seedy plans to produce high quality, well shot gonzo features with a story line and hot, inviting sex scenes. We will also be shooting very glossy features with attention to the script. There are stories that need to be told and we are the ones to do it.” says Strange. Also, with Dru Berrymore at the company’s helm, customers can count on a superior product with a woman’s perspective. I cannot tell you how refreshing it is to hear another company say “we believe that sex should be hot for both partners, not just the male.” it’s about time more people recognized the value of a female produced product and the visual integrity it will bring to a film.
Seedy Films first release is slated for early 2006 with their productions anticipated at approximately 6 per year. They will expand their focus beyond production and will be distributing for other lesser known but quality producers at the expected rate of about 2 per month. Taking the focus off of mass marketed, reconstituted content and focusing on a high quality, well produced product is what Seedy Films feels will be their defining quality.
Finally, this producer is happy to see another strong female at the helm of an adult production company. Where she is in a position to call all the shots and not simply be a face to the company in order to bring in the female dollars while men are secretly pulling the strings behind the scenes. I anticipate great things from Dru and Seedy Films respectively and cannot wait to see more movies where women are in the dominant sexual role.
