(LOS ANGELES, CA) — For a long time, any woman working in the sex industry was little more than eye candy, used by men to sell to men. Now, all of that has changed. More and more women are working in the industry in different capacities, behind the camera and in many other positions throughout the business. Marking a first in the publishing world, Naked Ambition (Carroll & Graf, $15.95) gives voice to a new generation of women shaping not only the sexual material we consume, but how we think and talk about sex.
"The whole concept of the book is to show that women are not only watching and enjoying sexually-oriented materials, they’re also directing, creating, selling and writing about it," says Naked Ambition editor, Carly Milne. "Porn has long been a confrontational social force that many feminists and right-wingers have espoused as being dangerous and degrading to women, but that’s just not the case."
