PMA puts Sunset Thomas’ American Whore with Kensington Books

Peter Miller, President of PMA Literary & Film Management, Inc., and Kelly Skillen proudly announce the sale of North American rights to American Whore, a no-holds-barred autobiography of adult film star and one-time legal courtesan Sunset Thomas, by Sunset and Kent Wallace, to Jeremie Ruby-Strauss of Kensington Books in a nice deal. PMA manages foreign and film rights to this title.

Sunset Thomas, the self-proclaimed “Princess of Porn,” is quite simply the most media-savvy crossover performer in the history of the adult industry. She is also a fearless pioneer–having survived a nomadic childhood, a traumatic acquaintance-rape, an abusive marriage and the societal stigma of being a “porn star,” in order to rise through the ranks of her profession and attain hard won freedom, inner peace, and entrepreneurial success.

Part inspirational memoir and part hard-hitting expose, Sunset bares her body and soul. She welcomes the reader behind the scenes of her most notorious adult films and into the alternately seedy and posh gentlemen’s clubs where she headlines. Sunset, née Diane Fowler, also analyzes her controversial-and potentially career-killing- decision to work as a courtesan in Nevada’s legal brothels. She is unstinting in her account of the industry’s harsh realities, but takes personal responsibility for all of her decisions, and traces her progress from naïve co-dependent to mother and, finally, to savvy business woman in full control of her destiny.

Journalist Kent Wallace has written for Spin, Source, Hustler, Notorious, and Screw, among countless other publications. He has worked with the Howard Stern, Maury Povich and Jenny Jones shows and currently hosts Reno’s top sports handicapping radio show, the Xtra Point on ESPN Radio. Sunset Thomas contributes sex advice to Esquire, was publisher of Cheri Magazine, and has been a guest of both Howard Stern and Bill O’Reilly to name a few.
