(SAN DIEGO, CA) — “What’s the first rule of horror?” asked producer/director David Quitmeyer. “Have sex and die! Right? If you get naked, you usually also get killed.” We talked after an invitation-only premiere screening of Quitmeyer’s Slaughter Disc. First in a franchise of X-rated horror-based projects for his Steel Web Studios and its Carnal Morgue series, Slaughter Disc attempts to break ground by combining both genres.
A lifelong horror fan, Quitmeyer started in the adult industry as webmaster for several adult-oriented sites. Bored by what he was producing, he envisioned an adult feature-length movie based on a story he’d written in high school. “I created a mythology, of a dead porn star that becomes the Bride of Death.” the plot of Slaughter Disc revolves around a porn addict slacker named Michael (played by unknown Robert Williams). Driven by his obsessions, Michael comes across an adult magazine featuring a mysterious Goth porn vixen named Andromeda Strange. After receiving her demonic disc in the mail, Michael is lured into a tortured hell somewhere between his own pathetic reality and Strange’s nightmare world of splatter-gore snuff.
Strange takes it to the hilt as a brain-eating zombie sex queen. And she is played to the hilt by adult actress Caroline Pierce, who’s been featured in dozens of films including John Stagliano’s 2002 BDSM epic, the Fashionistas. Pierce had been on hiatus from movies for a few years when she was approached by Quitmeyer. After speaking to him on the phone, she knew was perfect for the role and so did he; Pierce was hired without an in-person meeting. “She’s so fun to play,” said Pierce. “I get to kill people and be a zombie. I’ve always wanted to play an insane person, so it wasn’t that much of a stretch for me.”
The hardcore scenes are slick and spooky with Pierce gazing directly into the camera, nasty and vamping it up like an insatiable female version of Marilyn Manson. When she dons a skull-and-cross-bones thong, you know the “X” marks a very dangerous G-spot.
In the first sex scene, Pierce begins with a slow striptease which shows off her full, firm curves and tantalizing talent. The action turns hypnotically hot as she solos with a ghostly Grim Reaper dildo, enjoying every wicked inch. Michael is alternately entranced and terrified by what he sees on his big screen. Andromeda teases him with her Halloween tricks; she indulges in some sexy self-mutilation and blood-letting with a straight razor. Hardcore actor Travis Lee is a willing victim when Pierce assaults his cock with her hungry mouth. But when she breaks out her handy blade, Lee gets more than just a close shave.
Things get really freaky when Michael’s best friend John (played by newcomer Albin Kinney) ends up on the disc; bound, gagged and at Strange’s mercy. In a full-on fuck scene, Pierce rides Kinney long and hard, extracting his load before she extracts her murderous revenge.
There may be too much story here for fans used to fast-forwarding through a typical adult feature. But, by incorporating hardcore sex into a B-movie format, Quitmeyer hopes to attract a wider audience; fans that want porn as well as a plot.
But by keeping the screenplay short and simple, he was able to pay attention to details that would have been overlooked in other small budget adult productions. Well-placed special effects enhance the eerie quality of the sex scenes. The original music score (composed by Peter J. Gorritz) features driving guitar riffs and trance-y synthesizer which compliment the punk feel of the movie. And there’s lots and lots of stage blood.
Future plans for the Carnal Morgue series included prequels and sequels to Slaughter Disc, establishing Andromeda Strange as a recurring character. Currently, Quitmyer is working with artists to develop a comic book based on the movie and other merchandise. Pierce is thrilled with the idea of continuing in her role as Strange, and hopes she will see the character’s ultimate incarnation as a real-life action figure.
“Some of the Vivid girls have action figures,” Pierce said, “But they’re not in character. It would be so cool to have me in zombie make-up and a little outfit.”
Cast and crew will make appearances at Comic-Con International, held July 14- 17 in San Diego and at several horror film festivals scheduled for this fall, including Shriekfest and Screamfest in Los Angeles and Shockerfest in Modesto. Aside from working with his own Steel Web Studios, Quitmeyer is also co-owner of Ramco Productions, a San Diego-based production company that recently debuted its own adult comedy feature, Clown Porn (the Movie).
Busy at work, creating more genre-based adult films, Quitmeyer commented, “Erotic horror is nothing new,” said Quitmeyer, “Whether you explore the seductive lore of vampires or the S&M world of Clive Barker’s Hellraiser stories.
“Slaughter Disc is first and foremost a horror story. I think anybody that appreciates a good story will enjoy this film.”
