The two who died were Melody Newell and her daughter Samone, it was to be Samone’s birthday today and they were driving to Squamish for a sleep over with Mel’s two nieces ages 10 and 6. They were both in the car with Samone and Mel when the accident happened. One walked away. The other is still in hospital in critical condition.
I have just finished working with Laura Croft (Mel’s stage name) all week since she was in the pageant. This was the first time that I had the pleasure of meeting her and found her to be a beautiful human being, fun with a crazy sense of humour. I have just been working on some fantastic images of her from the pageant. This is such devastating news.
