(SCOTTSDALE, AZ) — Mike Tyson catches a break as his latest rage victim agrees to drop complaint, says Pussycat Lounge. A 22-year-old Arizona man whose car was damaged in a rage incident by former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson says he does not plan to lodge a complaint against the bankrupt boxer.
Asaf Alikadic says he has no interest in seeing the situation go any further. Tyson damaged Alikadic’s car as he drove away from a popular Scottsdale nightclub, the Pussycat Lounge, on Thanksgiving weekend. Scottsdale police said Tyson was cited on suspicion of felony criminal mischief.
“I have decided to drop all charges against Mike Tyson relating to the incident that took place on the night of November 27, 2004 after his exiting the Pussycat Lounge in Scottsdale, Arizona,” Mr. Alikadic said in a statement. “My decision to drop these charges is due solely to the fact that the Pussycat has become associated with these charges. Although I have no personal connection to the lounge or its owner, had I known from the beginning that the club would be in any way associated with a negative incident such as this, no charges would have ever been considered. Any measure of justice that I hoped to achieve as a result of my complaint to the police would be more than offset by the negative publicity placed on the Pussycat Lounge and I wish not to be a part of such publicity.”
According to a police report Tyson leaped on top of the hood of Alikadic’s white Toyota Solara, screaming and slamming his fists on the vehicle.
According to published reports, Tyson is scheduled to appear for a hearing in Scottsdale Municipal Court on Dec. 17 and if convicted, he could spend up to 5 3/4 years in prison because of his criminal history.
