(LOS ANGELES, CA) — On Friday, November 12, 2004, when Adult Video News announced the 2005 AVN Award nominations, Vivid Entertainment became the most nominated company in the 22-year history of the event. This year’s 93 nominations brings Vivid’s all-time total to over 1000. Ninety-three nominations also surpasses the all-time single year record for nominations given to one company. The 2005 AVN Awards to be presented in Las Vegas on January 8th have been dubbed “The Oscars of Adult.”
The Masseuse received 16 nominations including Best Film, Best Actress-Film for Jenna Jameson, Best Actor-Film for Justin Sterling and Best Director-Film for Paul Thomas.
ClubJenna’s Bella Loves Jenna collected 14 nominations in video categories that include Best Video Feature, Best Actress for Jenna Jameson, Best All-Girl Sex Scene for Jenna Jameson and Belladonna and Best Director for Justin Sterling.
The 8th Sin garnered 13 nominations in film categories that include Best Film, two Best Actor noms and two Best Supporting Actress nominations.
Vivid Girl Savanna Samson, who will host the 2005 awards ceremony, was nominated for Female Performer of the Year along with Best Actress-Film and Best Actress-Video. Sunrise Adams received a Best Actress-Film nomination for her starring role in Debbie does Dallas: The Revenge, and Tawny Roberts garnered a nomination for Best Actress-Video for her role in Unlovable.
Other Vivid titles that picked up nominations are: Dark Side of Briana, Where the Boys Aren’t 16, Fetish Underground, Dual Identity, Pretty Girl, Bare Stage, Adore, L’Affaire, Faraway, Jackie & Jill, Sweethearts, Tera Tera Tera and Maneater.
Vivid was also nominated for Best Overall Marketing Campaign – Company Image.
