(BEVERLY HILLS, CA) — The first announcement in over 5 years of an Adult Performer testing positive for HIV shattered lives, halted production and turned heads of a then benign Mainstream media. As you know this created questions upon questions which has appeared to have very few answers to a rapidly growing problem. If we, as an Industry, do not stand up together to start putting a mechanism into place to solve this dilemma – someone outside the Industry will.
We have heard many recommendations, and thoughts. The stage has been set, and the debate and discussion’s started. Assemblymen and other officials now feel compelled to do something, as they feel the system as it stands is not good enough. Much good has come out of all of this concern, idea’s have begun to flow freely, and people have started to be involved.
Recognizing that one can stand by and let things happen, or come up with workable solutions, I have chosen to lend my support to help solving some of the problems that we now can see exist in our current system. My belief is that a new system that is poised to be implemented is the start of the solution. Where no solution is perfect, and certainly there are issues with any possible solution, I believe that this new system offers us, the adult industry our best hope. It is called the Heard System. Heard stands for: Health Entertainment Adult Records Database. Heard provides a solution for the Adult Industry (as a whole) to turn the problematic system of yesterday into a showcase that will only be used as the benchmark for others to compare against.
