(WASHINGTON, DC) — Legendary adult star Janet Jacme (JanetJacme.net) thinks the adult industry needs to make major changes in light of the recent HIV scare that has caused many companies to halt production for two months.
Jacme, who has starred in more than 200 films, thinks the industry needs to think seriously about adopting a condoms-only policy.
“Why not?,” she said in her latest diary entry (JanetJacme.net/diary.htm) on her website. “If everybody does it nobody has a choice. You watch or your don’t. I think companies are worried people won’t watch it.”
Jacme said she’s aware that many viewers are turned off by condom use in adult film.
“I think people think it takes away from the look,” Jacme writes. “That it doesn’t look hot. I guess a man would rather look at a dick. It’s mostly men who say “I don’t want to watch it if it has condoms.”
Jacme said she doesn’t think the industry would suffer much in the long room by changing its approach — other than protecting the health of the engine that drives the industry: its performers. Jacme is in discussions with several companies about doing a film featuring the first girl-girl scene of her award-winning career. She said she will push for all the heterosexual scenes in the film to use condoms.
“I think we should protect ourselves,” she said.
