Canada’s Pornstar Academie Producers Make Pledge To Jenna Jameson’s Adult Industry Assistance Fund To Help Performers Ideled by HIV Scare.
(SCOTTSDALE, AZ) — Two leading Canadian adult production companies, Cyber2000 and PSA Productions, today pledged to donate 25 cents from every DVD and video it sells to a fund that will help performers thrown out of work by the current HIV-related shutdown in the XXX industry. The money will be contributed to the Adult Industry Assistance Fund, which was established by adult superstar Jenna Jameson and her husband Jay Grdina.
Cyber2000 and PSA productions created the popular Pornstar Academie feature that was filmed entirely in Montreal, Canada. A company spokesperson noted that one of the stars of Pornstar Academie is a performer who is on the list of actresses quarantined after she had on-camera sex with Darren James, the actor with whom the current HIV outbreak was believed to have originated.
In a letter to Ms. Jameson and Mr. Grdina, Pornstar Academie spokesperson Andrea F. said: “We believe that it is a very noble act on your part to have founded the AIAF, and we applaud your efforts. The unfortunate news of the outbreak in the industry touched us, but especially rang close to home when we heard that three of the girls on the quarantined list were talents from our own city. One in particular Patricia Petite was even part of our very own Pornstar Academie. As a sign of support and encouragement to the affected actors in the adult industry, we are proud to contribute to the AIAF.” She said an announcement about the donation would be made in Montreal this week.
Cyber2000 (Cyber2000.CA) is a multi lingual company with a variety of products both online and off, including prepaid adult access cards (ILovePrePaid.com). PSA Productions is a young adult video and web production company, also located in Montreal (PornstarAcademie.com).
Ms. Jameson and Mr. Grdina funded the Adult Industry Assistance Fund to provide help to performers idled by the HIV scare that has shut down much of the adult industry. They have invited other adult industry companies to contribute to AIAF. Further information is available at AdultFund.com. Contributions by check may be sent to AIAF c/o ClubJenna, Inc., 8390 East Via de Ventura, Suite F-110 – 258, Scottsdale, AZ 85258.
Ms. Jameson has also issued a call for tighter self-regulation of the XXX movie industry in order to head off the spread of HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases among adult performers. “The fact is that the adult industry as a whole has been remarkably free of STDs and HIV, considering that sex is what we do for a living,” she said. “We must do even more to prevent it from taking root among performers. The incidence of HIV in the adult industry is far lower than in the population as a whole, and we need to adopt stricter restrictions for our industry to keep it that way. I think that any performer coming into the United States from abroad, including American nationals who have worked outside the country, should have a ‘quarantine’ period in which they must wait at least 60 days before beginning work again in the adult industry.”
